Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

from a Juve fan forum.

"it is known that witsel has an agreement to join us with 2.5m a season but meeting the 30m asking price will be hard"

makes perfect sense.

Juve want him, just not at that price.

From his pov he is probably being told to hold out for Juve to up their bid. Not many seem to think that'll happen.

He's probably more than likely to come here, but he's hedging his bets anyway as let's be honest most sane people would pick Juve over us.

In Italy they quote the net (after tax) figure

I'd imagine that this means Juve have offered similar terms to us re. wages etc?

But as you've said many times, and is the common consensus even in the Italian press, they aren't willing to ship out 30m Euros, which is our bid.

We need him more than Juve need him so we pay extra dollars.

Ultimately Zenit will evenetually accept a lesser offer from Juve than us once it gets to a level they consider reasonable, perhaps the agent taking slightly less of a cut to ease it through etc... There is no value in them keeping him if he is that desperate to leave and eventually lose him for even less/nothing the longer he runs his contract down. Sadly player/agent power rules nowadays, and Juve seems to be where he wants to go.

I don't want him now anyway - I completely understand why from his perspective he would prefer Juve to us - but don't want someone who views our great club as their second-choice... especially not at that price and wage packet.

Time to move on to other targets and tie down Davies for the long-term and give him the chance to progress.

im sure we have all thought about this, but now what happens when Juve (inevitably) sell pogba? surely they will be able to match our offer?
i know perhaps they have used the 100m in advance because they have kind of gone on a spree.

Not shooting the messenger mate, but Juve actually haven't bid anything, just intermediaries running back and forth.

I don't think we're even 2nd choice mate.
