Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

I am not sure that any of us really know what is going on with the Witsel situation or indeed with Carvalho.
I am sure that if we had no chance and had been told so by the player and his agent we would have moved on. Just as I am sure there is a plan B.
But, I notice on the SKY transfer website there is no mention of Witsel or Carvalho or really very little mention of us doing much business at all.

We assume that the club is working towards the start of the season as a deadline to get players in but it may be that the manager is looking at September 1st unless something falls in place before that.

I think what I find most surprising is the almost total lack of players being linked to us by credible sources like SKY. The tabloid newspapers print so much rubbish it is to decipher when they have a genuine story. But, SKY are reasonably reliable in what is a very unreliable transfer market.

We are tentatively linked with Ashley Williams and Martins Indi but they are mentioned because of the probable sale of John Stones.

Something odd that happened on the OS earlier - the First Team squad list. It jumped up to 4 pages but Tarashaj and Stekelenburg disappeared - has now been restored to what it was previously. If they're editing the squad list, something could be close.

Quick... someone get on Skyscanner for all incoming flights into JLA ;);)

from a Juve fan forum.

"it is known that witsel has an agreement to join us with 2.5m a season but meeting the 30m asking price will be hard"

Lost all interest in this toilet brush lookalike head

Not shooting the messenger mate, but Juve actually haven't bid anything, just intermediaries running back and forth.
Esk, It seems that we have put a very definite offer on the table and it appears we have most aspects of the deal is agreed and in place.

We hear of the interest from Juve, but it appears at the moment it is more aspirational than any definite offer being made.

Do you believe that Witsel and his people are strongly favouring Juve and are delaying everything in the hope that something can be put together while keeping us an a decent back up , but certainly plan B ?
