This is the weirdest thing i have read, how are we like moyes team, we are signing players we couldnt imagine. we are miles better off than we was. we have signed players ready to win now we need to win now we need to bridge the gap now. we have waited long enough for trophies we have singed winners. right now we signed the 2 captains of the teams in the Europa league final last year. ramirez comes from barca. pickford just won the euros. keane played for man united and england. we are trying to sign more too. girouds won things i get what your saying but we are buying players for the future. 6m on 17 year old cb. bowler. lookman. calvert lewin. henry. support us and koeman instead off talking our manager down he is not moyes. he is a born winner we are lucky to have him really. he is honest to the fans doesnt bullshit us. lets be happy we our improving and get behind everyone in the club. this is a special time to be an evertonian.

I cant be bothered to go back to last seasons discussions when we hired the bloke but he's not a successful manager unless we class Holland as the epicentre of glory.

We had the stars and needed the supporting cast. now we have the supporting cast and no stars.

No head falling off here...but where are the top quality replacements? Weve brought in an ageing star and a lot of supporting cast members...

RS last season signing Mane comes to mind....this season Milan signing a few big names...

Quite a few examples...

I'm not having that. Mane was no "star".

I'd barely heard of him before his move. I knew he'd had a falling out with Koeman at Southampton and that's about it.

Rooney due to the name. Hes looked finished for ages.

Regarding Baines, its not about 'whose the best left back' but more about 'can he play 2 games a week' and 'can he keep consistency' and also 'if he gets injured can Connolly step up'.

Williams is 33 next month, Baines is 33 in December. At some point you need to look at them and go up a level if were serious about top 4.

Again I argue Baines is a top 4 left back right now, so I'm not sure how you can knock him as hindering our top 4 aspirations. Finding depth for the position and a future replacement is an entirely separate argument and one that I can support, but it's unfair to say Baines is somehow holding us back.

My Williams point was that you seemed to insinuate that he was a major step down from Stones, which he is not. Age isn't a valid argument in debating a players' quality.
Baines is past it man

Name 4 LBs in the league you would take over Baines today.

Moyes set up a team to not get beat, he was very good at it but Moyes problem is he couldn't attack well enough.
Martinez only setup a team to attack and didn't defend, in training he never worked on defending and I have that
personally from a somebody high up in the game.

Koeman has a mix of both of them, knows how to attack and defend. perfect combo

Rose, Bertrand, Mendy, Kolisinac to name just 4.

A Moyes team in the Moyes era, under them circumstances it wasnt always a bad thing even if very frustrating, however what followed was a disgrace, but if we are going back to a Moyes team as in one that has a shot of a top 4 place then its all good with me.

With the added spending power we have now and the youth set up we are looking much better in so many ways
