Perhaps the question one could ask is - Is it necessary to always make sexuality a political issue instead of a humanity issue? Once you accept that discrimination exists you can accept Race Relations Act, Equal Rights for Women etc etc without any reservations.

It clearly is not the same as 1930s Nazi Salutes (whoever made them).
FIFA has to have a blanket approach because, though they are supranational body who would no doubt have sympathy for that cause, they know that they deal with the realities of host countries for their tournaments and therefore they take a simple one size fits all approach of having no sort of messaging at all. That's just being pragmatic.

It's really simple for me: take part in the tournament under the organiser's rules or make a stand and dont take up the place your team has secured.

Gay and people from the LGBTQ community have been able to attend this world cup without any issues, given that they don't "publicly" display their homosexuality (could be displaying pride flags).

The very presentation of pride flags is seen as a blasphemous act by the Qataris and it goes against their faith, you don't believe that's somewhat disrespectful for fans to starting waving a pride flag, which is seen as blasphemous, around the stadiums in Qatar when there are most likely children and devout figures watching the game? If people feel like LGBTQ rights in Qatar need to be protested, it can be done in much more diplomatic channels without being outright disrespectful.

How would the UK like it if they hosted the world cup but at the same time, the Arab nations protested the drinking culture in the UK because it goes against their values?
I'd have a pint and reflect on what is happening on the pitch.

I've schooled you once before on here, dont make me do it again.

Must've missed that.

Fair enough. I guess you'll be forgiving the meat-head element of Rangers support their mores from now on. Or never questioning how an Evertonian could support England ever again? Or never ever ever referring the the RS as Tories?

At least your blood pressure will be lower.
