My local Tesco had Hitachino white nest ale reduced to clear at 95p a can. Took the remaining 5 but the missus has had about half of it. Proper wheat beer session as I’ve also got Erdinger, Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner weissbiers in as well

One of my locals is member of something called - The Cask Club.
This enables him to buy ale that`s free of the tie with Punch, hence why he`s had quite a few Southern / South Western beers in recently.

The 'Big House' (the Vines) has closed. Didn't drink there much myself ; a nice Victorian pub and disappointing that another pub is closing.
According to the Echo the upstairs is going to be converted into hostel type rooms.

That`s terrible news.
As much as it was a bit ropey, especially at the weekends, it had a beautiful interior.
I`m wondering if there will be a load of heritage / conservation listings on it, as the outside is pretty special too.
