Beer, revisited

That`s terrible news.

As much as it was a bit ropey, especially at the weekends, it had a beautiful interior.

I`m wondering if there will be a load of heritage / conservation listings on it, as the outside is pretty special too.
There was no news in the Echo article about what they're going to do about the ground floor of the pub ; it's grade 2 listed so I would imagine there are stringent conditions with regards to any future developments.

No photos unfortunately, but had a fab day out in Glasgow yesterday with family and friends, despite the score. Had...
Andechs Dopplebock - Pot Still,
Unpasturised Furstenburg - Ubiquitous Chip,
Weinstephener Hefe and Affligem - Brel,
Stay Puft marshmallow stout and Kernel IPA - Munro's. :pint2:
Got a couple of bottles of Andechs dark bock sitting in my beer collection behind me. Must admit I was disappointed in their summer bock, though, after finally tracking it down.

Had a few of these over in the Black Forest the other week:

Lovely beer. The German text says they have been brewing porter since the start of the 20th century after one of the original owners fell in love with the taste when he was studying in the UK. Apparently Hoepfner is a craft brewery based out of Karlsrühe owned by the counts who run the Furstenberg brewery in Donaueschingen (one of the main Black Forest breweries in southwestern Germany).

So if you ever see it over in your speciality beer place or if you are visiting the Schwarzwald at any point...
