Gorgeous mahogany ESB from a very local brewery (20 minutes walk), Good Chemistry, strong bitter toffee malt with a dry finish. Great to see a craft brewery making a first class English style beer.

Ordered some 'Primator Premium' lager online, it's a Czech lager, and a very nice one at that. strong, and the bonus is it doesn't give me a massive hangover the next day.

Quite a few craft breweries are doing ESB, English porters and milds at the moment. I think the lack of pub is getting to them.
Have you had any Torrside beers? They do a lot of traditional styles. Lots of smoked beers too.

Why did the likes of Becks, Budweiser etc give me a terrible hangover, but when I started drinking Peroni, Moretti and my new one Primator premium (a Czech lager) etc I could have a fair few but wake up the next day feeling a 100 times better than drinking the former?

A. Le Coq from Estonia is a fantastic beer, as well as Hungarian beer Dreher and the Slovenian beer Union.
Budvar is also a fantastic one, but in Prague, I found it a million times better than the imported version.

Zalty Bazant (Golden Eagle) from Slovakia is also a good un. Although I found Bratislava a boring place, the beer drinking was fun.

It can vary between things such as adjuncts used, water purity and acetaldehyde but it ultimately comes down to larger breweries cutting costs as much as they can to make the beer.
