PUB OF THE WEEK: Double CAMRA glory for New Brighton's Magazine Hotel
THE Magazine Hotel in New Brighton is one of the oldest pubs on the Wirral, with the premises dating back to 1759.
Couple from the weekend :
BG Sips Pale Ale ( 4% ) - Blue Monkey
Casino Pale Ale ( 3.9% ) - Wigan Brewhouse
Both were absolute crackers, particularly the BG Sips, which was like a pale ale, blended with an amber ale.
I was a bit wary of the Casino to begin with, with it being triple hopped, as I’m not into over hopped beers, but the taste was really subtle.
I’d never had anything from Blue Monkey, before, based in Nottingham and all their beers are named after monkeys, chimps etc, with very distinct beer clips.
Deffo one to look out for.

It'd be difficult to miss the Blue Monkey's beer clips, which I suppose is the idea.
They are very eye catching, which is great marketing from a small brewery.
It’s also double edged, as you’ll also remember a bad one more too.
Paddy has BG Sips in the Everyman for many a year, and ‘twas always a favourite.
First time I`ve ever had it and I was very impressed.

I think it's more of an onus of getting double jabbed. If you've been willing to get those, you're more likely to get a third or whatever else is needed.
Vaccines aren't mandatory, but we'll in theory make it harder to do many things without one is the logic I suspect underpins it all.

Unless they shut them down again, I can’t see many local pubs paying anything other than lip service anyway.
City centre and food led pubs, yes .
One of our local breweries has hooked up with M&S, massive result for them. Its absolutely lush as well.
