Beer and a lot of pork. The lager was served in wooden casks when I was there, sure it still is

Still rolling beer filled wooden casks up from the depths, still semi self-service, really good Marzen on, and I'm hoping to try the bock.
Your liver must be a sturdy beast ! lolFinal update, so back to Munich for a night yesterday, we headed out for dins and a bottle of very strange German plonk, followed by a session in Wirtshaus Maximillian for a coupe of Helles:

Awesome, What was the band and how much was your drinks budget (ave ale cost please) and then food budget? Seems a top time to go, in between seasons with the gear up to Christmas. Top view that. Bet it helps when the rain holds off. Also, best meal there you had?Not a clue mate, some weird temperature read maybe?
Pure pleasure, the missus wanted to see a band and they'd sold out all over the UK, so we got tickets for Munich instead. Then it got canned twice due to covid, we built the trip around that.
Salzburg was a bonus, we were looking for stuff to do and realised how close it was, and neither of us had been to Austria so its another pin in the map.
That hotel was lovely but we got it for about 60 quid a night, I imagine its a lot more during ski season.

The flights were a hundred notes each and the Munich hotels were cheap as. Well recommended.
