Beer, revisited

Hahaha, this might tip you over the edge, this was the hotel bar in Salzburg:

Yes mate, you read that right.
I remember staying in Amsterdam, and we'd paid extra for the hotel with a fully-stocked, 24Hr bar that had ample choice. Or that's what the advert said.

The Dutch surprised me with their take on a bar by having a vending machine, which had cans of Amstel and Heineken in it. To be fair though, we empited it.

Awesome, What was the band and how much was your drinks budget (ave ale cost please) and then food budget? Seems a top time to go, in between seasons with the gear up to Christmas. Top view that. Bet it helps when the rain holds off. Also, best meal there you had?
Wolf Alice.

Its not Eastern Europe cheap, but its not mega expensive either. Beer is €4-4.50 for a half litre on average for a keller or hell, bit more for the stronger dunkels and bocks. A full litre in the big tankards is a bit cheaper, but actually one of the Germans we met explained that mostly they'll go for the smaller size as it keeps the beer fresher.
Food can be as cheap or expensive as you like, you could get by on €30-40 a day quite comfortably.
Best food was this afghan place:

Had a grilled lamb kebab in a marinade, saffron spiced brown rice and and tomato and aubergine side that was some of the best food I've eaten anywhere, ever.

I was a little harsh on Founders Porter. While The Woman To Whom I’m Related By Marriage is by no means Cajun, she makes a decent gumbo and it pairs well with a good Porter. Maybe an Abita Oyster Stout paired with a proper gumbo would exceed this but I’m happy tonight.
This Founders Porter?

For me it is a bit of heaven in a bottle.

Had this the other day, fruity porter, not heavy like some can be, very nice.
