Beer, revisited

They've started stocking kronenbourg blanc in the tesco by the in laws so hoping this will be a nationwide thing soon.

If you see this by you, you have to give it a try.

I first had it in Lithuania a while back and become obsessed with it. Lovely little zesty wheat beer. Ideal summer tipple, especially if you can get in on draught anywhere.

What I've been enjoying recently (mostly stuff I've posted before)

Love Street Blonde (Kolsch) by Karbach (Texas). Really crisp and enjoyable, about as good as you're going to get from a Yank Kolsch. 79 score on BA but this is not a reflection on how good this is, an almost perfect pour on a summer day.

Reve Coffee Stout by Parish (Louisiana). A very nice coffee stout and a very good BA score of 97. Probably a little over the top but a very warm, malty stout without any lingering aftertaste and an excellent slow pour. Always think I should get some Reve coffee every time I drink one but really all I do is look forward to my next beer. Go get you one if you can find it.

Paulaner Hefeweizen (Munich). Not much to say about this, one of the greats. I prefer Franziskaner but it's hard to find locally but I'll always drink Pauliner or Weihenstephaner, you don't have to pry open my lips for these. BA score 90.

Delirium Tremens or Nocturnum (Belgium) depending on whether I want a darker or lighter brew. Both excellent although I prefer the darker, redder Belgians most days. Delirium are hard to beat although I'll put up anything from Unibroue (Montreal) as excellent everyday and twice today. Tremens and Nocturnum score 92 and 90 on BA.

Had a terrible pint today. You could have used it to put it on your chips it was that vinegary. Took it back, and met with the response (not exactly new) that nobody else has complained. After a wearisome five minutes toing and froing, I eventually got a replacement. Went back for another pint 15 minutes later to note that the beer had been taken off. What a waste of time, and hardly encourages you to go back. Thought those days had passed.

Another absolute winner from Siren in a style that's been done to death. Even though they've slung 5 different hops in it, it's balanced, flavourful and moreish with a bit of crystal rye to give body and it has a superb dry, earthy finish rather than the usual hyper resin tang. Great beer.
