Had a decent game against Wolves did Ben Godfrey. Not much you can say about the lad that hasn't already been said, really. He's a solid, versatile, defender, and an excellent buy. Well done Marcel Brands.

I'd guess he'd have been more impressed with the English CB who actually played CB today.

He showed he can play RB too. He can play CB, RB and LB that would be handy in a squad.

He's conservatively the 10th best English RB and that even feels high. They'll not need him there.

For a first season for us he has in the main been decent. Not great at times and still lots to learn but I think we can all agree he is certainly going to be a stalwart for years to come

He’s quick, he can go forward and track back quickly , comfortable in possession , doesn’t look fazed when surrounded by opposition, a good passer of the ball particularly his assist at West Ham and can make a great tackle.

@Eggs think you'll win your euros bet or will Southgate play it safe?

....I wondered why Southgate was there & could only think it was an ideal opportunity to compare Godfrey & Coady (Keane). The big advantage Godfrey has is his versatility, allowing Southgate cover more than one position if he’s uncertain elsewhere.

I can understand Mings being selected, I like him myself but I’d have Godfrey ahead of Coady (and Keane). The big doubt is Godfrey hasn’t been selected for a squad as yet. I reckon it’s more unlikely than likely but he might be next in the queue if there’s an unfortunate injury to somebody.

What is the age criteria for the young player award? I think he's been exceptional but other than him and davies who would be considered a young player that actually played?
