Very excited about this chap...rare to bring in a defender who looks like the sky is the limit.

...as posters know, I was very positive about this as soon as it happened & predicted he’d be our no1 defender by the end of the season. I see him, though, as more aggressive than classy. More Keown than Ferdinand.

He’s a defender you would hate playing against. it’ll hurt when you come into contact with him, you’d not bully him, you’d never feel you were past him, he’s not likely to be over confident in possession.

I’m not even precious about who partners him. I’m not a Keane fan, but I have no issue with him playing alongside Godfrey.

Would be great to bring in a Ferdinand type to Godfrey’s Vidic. Hate to say it but Stones would be a perfect partner to Godfrey.

...ah yes, you could have a formidable pairing. Classy type would be a contrast, but if it was somebody like Mings I think opposing strikers would be feigning a tight hamstring before the game.

its priorities for us & even if Mina leaves I‘m ok with Keane in the short-term.

Early days give his injury but I'd like to see Branthwaite with him,two quick centre backs who attackers know are going to give them a tough afternoon.

...he’s an interesting one. Deceptively fast, I see him as a classy type. Not sure how aerially dominant they’d be, but a natural right and left footer.

We either go for another 'killer' like Godfrey in Araujo/Kounde... https://www.google.com/amp/s/barcau...n-between-ronald-araujo-and-jules-kounde/amp/

...or we go for someone a bit more elegant like Pau Torres or Edmond Tapsoba.

We need to spend on this CB position to get the best out of Godfrey.

What a shame it would be if he stagnated due to playing with lesser players.

I'm sure Watkins and that Sheffield United bloke on his debut just hated it

Don't mind Means but feel Mina is more aggressive, better with his head and better passing out of defence, especially. Him and Godfrey, if we can keep Mina fit.

Watch the DCL interview,he named him as one of the quickest at the club, from the little we saw he appears to attack the ball well and likes to carry the ball from the back. Who knows how bad the knee injury was,but young and hungry and cost buttons, what's not to like.
