He's only a few months younger than Dias for example. He has plenty of potential and can get better but he hasn't been as good as people are saying. We need less hype and to be a little more realistic in our assessments of players.

Or we just stop having unrealistic expectations of football players? If he never made mistakes he would not be at Everton.

No we should expect better from our players so we can improve. Well that goes for the players who are half decent. There's plenty who just need to go.

We are far too tolerant of rubbish performances and tend to massively overrate our better players.

I mean I never watched the game today but was he rubbish? You said he needs to stop making mistakes; everyone makes mistakes. He'd be at the world's best teams not 10th placed Everton if he never made them.

Got caught out in behind regularly. He got into a bad mix up with Digne for one of the goals. It looked like he was trying to play offside a lot of the time which is pretty mad against that City team.

The worst though was the second goal where Keane decided to try and dribble out from the back and lost the ball leaving us like 4 v 2. That was on a different level of poor.

His pace gets him out of trouble a lot but not against top teams. His attitude is spot on and that's why we need to persist with him, but I think we will concede too many goals until he improves on the sloppy errors.

It was a lesson learned today. Nothing much he could do with others going awol also. At times he didn't know whether to come or go.
It has been an excellent 1st season for him and settled in better than we all expected. Been used mainly as our utility player so think it is clear to see the great potential he has.
