I'd go further back. I got slated for having a pop at him over 12 months ago. His 1 v 1 defending is some of the worst I can remember.

If he doesn't offer anything going forward, which he isn't right now, he's next to useless.

Covid is such a lazy excuse, the lad can't defend. His positioning is probably the worst I've ever seen in recent Everton CBs.

He can be good with the right coaching, but when he hasn't got yerry holding his hand he's shown up for what he is, a young lad who needs a tonne of work

TBF I think Newcastle had a couple of players suffering long term effects last season. ASM was one and I forget the other

Callum Robinson at West Brom had it same time as Godfrey and he can't manage a full game yet. Players think they have youth and fitness on their side but not always the case.
