Man for the moment yesterday.
Upon him signing for us we were treated to a clip of him pounding away at a punchbag in the gym. I definitely got the impression he'd be nobody's pushover and the way they got in the smurf's head was brilliant.

He played well yesterday. We haven’t really seen much of him for quite a while, but that performance was promising. I have never been entI rely convinced with him playing at CB. In his first season he mainly played at LB. When he has played at CB his performances were often flaky. He was hampered by long covid last season and the leg break this season which was serious.

Although he has been here a few seasons, I don’t feel his Everton career has really pinked up. Yesterday could be the game and performance that finally get him going. playing in the three really suited him and he was good marking Harland. He wasn’t afraid of the physical battle. I hope he can maintain that level of performance.

He’s perfect in a three. Defo will keep the lad.

We should have kept with a back 3 from the start of the season imo. We signed Coady and Vinagre specifically for that formation then jibbed it off after a few games.

Thelwell needs to stamp his authority on Lampard and get back to it imo.

That's an amazing gif. I mean, why a player of the ability of Haaland would do anything other than smirk in pity at the likes of Godfrey, God only knows. Fair play to Godfrey. Gain whatever advantage you can gain. This might be the difference between Haaland and Mbappe. The Frenchman simply stuck four goals past Emiliano Martinez. He may have lost in the end, but he is clearly in the head of a goalkeeper who won the World Cup with a blinding last-minute save and a penalty stop and yet is still fighting in Vietnam if his Mbappe doll is anything to go by...

I love how Haaland behaved that first half. Utter character from a world class player that loves a tussle too. Used to be loads of them back in the day...now he's a rare breed. But it did make him pretty anonymous the 2nd half

And fair play to Godfrey though. Didn't give a [Poor language removed]. Most CBs are terrified of him.

Still baffled by this thing with Haaland. Did he think Godfrey tried to wreck him with that early challenge or something? I’ve never seen a more accidental injury in my life.
Me too. Can only think he was constantly winding him up and he could't handle it. Maybe not used to someone having a go at him
