Just noticed that your boys bought 2 players from Salzburg for 42m in the Summer.
How do you know money changed hands? Because they have a value attached? We move stock around within the group of companies I work for, yes they have a value, (they have to have a value!) but the money doesn`t change hands immediately, if ever at all. They go on the balance sheet of each company i.e. each football club as Interco trading. You can not prove whether money did or did not change hands unless you can get your hands on Leipzig bank statement.

A few in here lacking business knowledge so why get involved.

Because it's illegal for a club (Everton) to give a player (Godfrey) to another club (Genoa) who might in the future have the same owner for magical invisble fake money.

It makes sense to sell him now. 18 months left on a deal I believe and not a key player, or even the first choice back up for his position. If it means we can go out and loan a player in midfield or out wide, then bringing in some cash is the sensible thing to do.

I doubt it will be the kind of money we might hope for though. 10m would be a very good fee. But we need to continue to get better at selling players entering the final year of a contract. We did well with Iwobi now need to do the same here.
Even 10m lets us do SOMETHING for another position where we have fewer options. Who knows, maybe 777 pull off the triple play and we end up with that young midfielder from Vasco.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

You do realise that all the teams in the Redbull group are subject to FFP rules?

Does your company have a governing body that examines your accounts every year?

I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man.

I`m sure it will be an initial loan with obligation to buy, something along them lines.

By the time they have to sign him permanently they would hope the takeover is done, if it isn`t done they will just send him back... 😂

And if it's a loan + obligation we will still get money... we are two completely separate companies, in different countries, who have their financial accounts scrutinised.

"Didn't you sell Godfrey? Where's the money for him?"

"Errrrr"

Is this how you think it would go.

The asset (Player) would be brought in to the accounts at a value so it is perfectly visible, it would just be the actual cash transfer doesn`t happen within the same company and sits on the balance sheet.

The people that are looking at PSR will be more interested in your Profit and Loss account.

Right, but lets say a team like Everton.

Can we pay our players with this fake money? Can we buy other players with this fake money?

777 will have bought us by the time to buy so then they have the choice.... if we are not the same group by then they have to pay, if we are it will go to Interco trading.

It isn`t fake money, if it is within a group owned by the same owner it would be Interco trading... it happens in multiple entities all over the world.

Ok Thumb, I think you are massively wrong, but page upon page of us saying the same thing wont change eithers opinion.

But its a very moot point, Genoa are owned by 777 and Everton arent.

From Johannes Spors own mouth...
