2023/24 Ben Godfrey

So makes sense for everyone to take six months. Harrison is more then good enough for where we are at and he balances the side.

Gnonto may come into this.........

We should sell to the highest bidder and move for Wharton before he goes to Palace.

I see Genoa sniffing around Godfrey, typical 777, and this demonstrates they won`t use Everton or give us any favours whatsoever.

Dragusin, a player that could have an immediate impact on this team and long term successor to Tarky sold externally but now they want to keep Godfrey in the group and nab him on the cheap whilst Everton pay for him!!!

777 must never be allowed to take over....

Genoa sell Dragusin.

Genoa use the money from the sale to sign Godfrey.

We dont need an enigma machine for this.

Looks like Blackburn need the money and thats something we really dont have, even if we sold Godfrey.

Going into the January transfer window, Blackburn Rovers head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson wanted to add some more experience to his squad - he has so far received the complete opposite of that though.

Two more young players arrived on loan in the form of Yasin Ayari and Ben Chrisene, another young permanent signing is set to come in Crewe centre-back Connor O'Riordan, but the experience of midfielder Lewis Travis has been lost to promotion-chasing Ipswich Town.

There is little money to spend at Ewood Park this month, with club owners the Venky's still battling with the Indian authorities to get money out of their native country to help fund the running costs of Rovers.

A significant sale in the final week of the transfer window though could help matters considerably - and Blackburn are now set to receive late interest in starlet Adam Wharton.

Venkys doing Venky things.

Remember, we wouldnt need to put the whole fee down. Also a signing counts as the fee divided by the contract length while a sale hits the books in one go.

Leeds can do one after the gnonto debarcle

Anyone but Leeds and spurs

Not sure the Gnonto debacle was on Leeds. We wanted him but didnt want or have the money to pay for Gnonto . They didnt really want to sell but we pushed to get him under their valuation and wouldnt move on. Probably dodged a bullet there with gnonto anyway

They signed him for 3m and apparently we were offering 30m after one season.

They should have snapped our hands off tbh

Hopefully we can sell rather than loan this window. He's surplus to requirements and if we do have to sell to keep the lights on for a few more months then I'd rather it him than a first team regular.

Real shame it never worked out with him - I really liked him when he first signed. Our sh!tshow of a transfer policy meant he was required as a utility player rather than a regular centre half... it must have impacted his development.

Christ not this again.
I prefer godfrey pressing high in midfield, than 3 at the back which we know we are not very good at. In an ideal world, we would have a ready made cm player ready to come in, even a youngster...but we have zero depth in the squad.
