I am a lot less impressed about Godfrey. I think that DCL with time and consistent play time in the right set up could be a good player but no idea if that’s possible at Everton unfortunately.

….reckon the club offered him that contract because they don’t want him to leave for free next summer, he’s a versatile defender who can cover a number of positions and we’ll struggle financially to replace him.
He can still cover if Branthwaite leaves and is in a great position to run his current deal down.

Godfrey is bang average but remains valuable in a threadbare squad such as ours. He’s never going to be a nailed on starter but can over all across the back line when needed.
And he’s rapid, a commodity we are certainly not blessed with in the panel.
