Is he mate? He knows he's not seen as good enough to start, and is just making it easier for him to leave next summer.
You can’t play how we play and have a CB who doesn’t dominate in the airShame, as he just started to look like he could break into the team. Made some very important last ditch tackles, so might have been worth a try if Branthwaite did have to be sold this summer.

Hes crap. If he's turned down that contract he's going to be sold this summer. We will not struggle to replace a championship level defender on 70k a week….reckon the club offered him that contract because they don’t want him to leave for free next summer, he’s a versatile defender who can cover a number of positions and we’ll struggle financially to replace him.
He can still cover if Branthwaite leaves and is in a great position to run his current deal down.
Another Holgate with a bit more paceI thought he started great, got a call up to the england squad.... and since then it's been a downward spiral, injuries, new managers etc all playing a part.
But, he is no where near good enough to start centre half, due to his poor heading & positional play and he isn't consistent enough to be a full back and has limited cross.
Squad player at best, he won't be missed at all.
The unknown unknowns are always the troublemakers.View attachment 260488
There are known knowns, there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns, that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know.
Ben holds the cards if he is on £70k a week, if he doesn’t get a better deal he will sit tight for twelve months then walk away a free agent, and he will cop for a large signing on fee plus good wages, that’s why players have agents sorting their future out.Hes crap. He won't get a better deal than now. He gets a % of the transfer fee + he gets a fee for leaving + signing on fee and his wages will be higher.Ben holds the cards if he is on £70k a week, if he doesn’t get a better deal he will sit tight for twelve months then walk away a free agent, and he will cop for a large signing on fee plus good wages, that’s why players have agents sorting their future out.
We struggle to replace one that covers 3 positions as it has now becomes a priority to do so on an extremely limited budgetHes crap. If he's turned down that contract he's going to be sold this summer. We will not struggle to replace a championship level defender on 70k a week
