we've been on a crazy win streak with bernard-walcott-rich front 3, i dont think he will change it untill we lose (which will probably happen as we play city and liverpol)

Find the whole “he’s not fast enough or strong enough to play out wide” a bit weird

Never hurt David Silva (who plays #10 now, but didn’t for his first several seasons in the Prem)

Funny player Bernard. Ok might not have many assists or any goals, but he's just like Pienaar he's an integral part of our attacking play. You can play an out ball to him and he'll very rarely lose it, just like Gomes his tight ball control is excellent. Without him we wouldn't be getting up the pitch as quick. Big plus is that he knows how to defend and how to help maintain the shape of the team. Compare to last year when we had no-one with these skills, we'd kick the ball up and it came straight back again. Having players like Bernard Siggy and Richarlison has totally transformed our transition from defence to attack. I'd say he's pretty important to the way we play and am sure he'll get better as he adapts to the English game.

Said this the other day Dave, at times he just looks like a little boy lost. Early days yet though, and hopefully he just needs more time to settle.

The physicality and pace of the defenders seems to intimidate him a bit. As if he knows that if he doesn't get a shot off or cross in straight away he'll be challenged. He looks hurried because of it.

Needs to find his PL head pretty quickly or the fans will turn.

I don't think he is from what i can see and im trying to look at it from a non fan perspective and a more professional viewpoint.
He's physically fit. He's just not PL fit. That involves being able to think clearly under a lot of pressure where space is closed down much quicker than he's been used to elsewhere.

IMO Dave he's only had one good game, and that was against Leicester, but for a lot of our fans he only has to play one 30 yard ball and nothing else in a full 90 mins, and he's supposedly had a good game. As I say though, still early days, really hope he becomes boss.

End of the day he's meant to be back up for Richarlison and he is certainly good enough to be that.

Once we sign a decent striker Rico will be back out wide and Bernard can come off the bench against tiring legs and work his magic.

In the mean time he's doing just about enough to keep his place in the side so no complaints from me.

Yeah, I agree. Time for him to get some consistency. But there signs are that he's struggling.

I’m not knocking him, but surely he should be fit by now? He’s been in full training for 3 months - including a couple of international breaks where they could work extensively on fitness - and has played a part in 10 or 11 games I think. That should really be plenty to get match fit.

I'd imagine those with doubts over him are aware of the differences between the Premier League and the Ukrainian top tier? We could be waiting until the latter stages of this season to see his glimpses of a player become something more consistent. At the very least he deserves a season...
