Davies is hardly a tough-tackler but plays CM. I think Bernard, with his work-rate and superior skills on the ball, could manage to play CM quite easily. He would give the ball away far less. Bernard has made 24 tackles & blocked 4 shots in 857 mins of PL this season, while Davies has made 22 tackles & blocked 3 shots in 1195 minutes.
Bernard has given the ball away more than anyone in the side the last 3 games.

Failing to beat a man or two and losing possession that way is not the same as the misplaced and lazy passes a lot of our other players produce in most games.
He's also had the lowest passing percentage. Now I will give him the break here and say that probably comes down to him being expected to play slightly riskier balls, and that is certainly true tonight, but I think the idea that he's some kind of ball keeping magician is part of the myth that is Bernard.

That said it might be worthwhile moving him into midfield because he is beyond frustrating in the final third. He got an assist tonight so that's a positive but he found so much space and did so little.

This would give Iwobi more chances when he's back and if we stick with Kean and DCL, Richarlison too could play on the left while we keep Bernard in the 11.
You cannot seriously suggest Bernard should start in CM away from home?

Have you watched him get bullied, get turned over and opposition target him in almost every away game when he plays wide. It would be utter suicide to play him in the middle.

And I thought the Pienaar comparisons were too much. Alan Ball! Rooney!

He didn’t compare them to Bernie.thought he was saying that Rooney and ball had magic like Bernie does also but they had and product too and that’s why it’s rare and they get talked about

Why do you hate him so much.

Bernards is when he’s trying to be positive, delph loses it when he’s playing 10 yard suicide balls in his own half

This.... if you want through balls you have to accept that they don’t always come off, delph makes a mess of a cowards pass that is usually after he does a weird fast turn toward his on goal to make it look like he’s cool and kills the momentum.

Superb... But he's got to finish that chance after a glorious move. Beautiful flowing football but he hesitates before trying to chip the keeper.

We simply miss too many golden opportunities to kills teams off and unbelievably its cost us in the space of 90 seconds tonight.

I thought that he tried to skip it past the keeper who got a touch and bounced back of Bernie then over. Then seen the replay and realised it was a terrible chip

This.

Creative players lose the ball, because they're trying to make something happen. Our movement has improved 10 fold under Ancelotti, it's no surprise that Bernie has been very effective in the past two home games since strikers are giving him something to aim for.

Bernard Richarlison DCL Kean is a very effective front 4 and can grow really well together - 4-42 in defence as Ancelotti says and a sort of 4-2-1-3 in attack would be amazing, or drop for a better RM or LM (walcott if we have to, Sidibe or whoever we can get) in Away or tougher games.

Bernard is gonna be really good with this settled front 2-3 in front of him!

Love to see creative players like him trying to entertain and be effective. Played well last night, his only big downer was being pulled off by that twerp Ancelotti.

Excellent footballer, composure is his weak point, but I love his type of player. Instinctive, gets you off the seast.

Sometimes certain players can not be judged on stats and numbers, you just need to watch him.
