Maybe we can’t do anything about it now or in January, but both Bernard and iwobi are on the players they want out list

Given we still have deficiencies at RB, GK and need a backup CF, I think replacing both Bernard and Iwobi will take a while - I’d agree we should get Bernard moved on (as Carlo clearly doesn’t see him as being right for his set up), but Iwobi will probably remain as a squad player for the foreseeable.

I agree but how does he get in when Carlo keeps playing Iwobi and Sigurdson over him?

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Ancelotti has had to make an attacking sub or a sub when we are behind yet this season?

Though Bernard does work hard defensively, it might be that Carlo prefers the size that Iwobi and Siggy bring defensively when we’re in front.

Again he’s here and gives his all when allowed, I don’t get the angst for him, we can’t change the situation so better support him.
He does offer something different off the bench when teams are defending deep and can trap a ball like a bag of sand.
He offers something different for sure but I'm not so sure that's a good thing.

There isn't much to appreciate from a footballing perspective. He's a good guy though.
Not much to appreciate? Well, maybe I guess, if you’re not into technical ability and skill. Thought he had a promising first season and was a big reason behind Lucas Digne’s outstanding first year. Excellent link player, clever little combinations, one twos etc. Dropped off massively last year, no denying and doesn’t look like it will work out for him here but there’s a good player there for sure.

Lucas Digne is the reason Lucas Digne is good.

He wasn't good his first year too. His technical ability is fine, but it doesn't make up for him not impacting games. There's a good player in Ukraine and Brazil. Not the Premier League.

He's a good lad though.

Erm, yes, Lucas Digne is the reason Lucas Digne is good - we’ll done. Much as Leighton Baines was the reason leighton Baines was good but he was at his best with Stevie P playing in front of him. Bernard and Stevie P are similar, they don’t get a bucket of assists goals themselves but they combine well with other players who are good technically and move off the ball.

Lucas Digne and Bernard looked like they were forming a promising partnership in their first season. Bernard never kicked on last year and no coincidence Lucas Digne’s form dipped as well.

Comparing Bernard to Pienaar is disrespectful to Steven.

Digne's form didn't dip and hasn't dipped. All that changed from Year 1 to Year 2 is he scored less screamers. He's good independent of who is in front of him.

Last season many of our goals were created by him to be fair. Hell, he even managed to set up Kean for a goal! He wasn't quite as good in front of goal as around it but that aspect too was improving.

In a dire last season, with dire performances all round, he was one of the few players we had capable of actually making an impact and that must surely have been due to his skill and technical ability.

I'm sure one could make a compliation video of last seasons footage demonstrating his impact and contribution to many of the games, because I really don't think I imagined it! Almost starting to think I did its so crazy reading all these threads about how he's not good enough all of a sudden!

I think if you even go back and read the old match threads you will see many people there raving about him.

The manager knows best and has the full picture though. Maybe he doesn't fit into the system he wants to play or there are things going on we don't know about but I do beleive he was and is a great player with natural god given ability and talent.

Hopefully like DCL he will prove his doubters wrong!
