They don`t have curry either.
The first time one of my mates from London visited, he just couldn`t get his head around, gravy and chips or pie / fish dinners.
Apparently, there`s no such thing as gravy in chippy in London ?
I`ve also been in Asian owned chippies in West Yorks, that do pie / fish butties - two slabs of white bread, covered in butter and a pie / fish in the middle, with gravy as an optional extra.
It took me a while to get my head around that one.

As you alluded to earlier, they're mostly Chinese takeaways with the option of fish, sausage, some chips and other stuff added on.I've lived in Yorkshire now for a fair few years - I'd say their Chippies are Fish and Chip shops. With the extras being sausages and pies and that's it. They've always had curry and gravy too though. None can ever do any half decent mushy peas either.
Their fish cakes have actual chunks of fish in as well. I was really disappointed.
Yorkshire do 10x better fish and chips than any I've ever had in Liverpool, but Liverpool Chippies are their own thing entirely.
