Confirmed Signing Beto

I know it was only Doncaster but when you look that goal, the header onto the post and the no-nonsense finish for the offside goal you can't help but think that Nobby is the new Rom we've been praying for.

Agreed. But that's just between you and me as we've seen more false dawns than a judge at a world drag queen competition called 'Miss Dawn'.

Everyone said Chermiti looked good against Wolves now half the fans want him packed off to a 5th division team in the Donbas. Fickle lot us.

He won’t be able to run past players like against Doncaster, won’t be outmuscling many in the PL. It’s great that he scored but the Doncaster match was just an example of him being bigger and faster than his opponent, because of the level.
So no one can run past Michael Keane or Tarks. I think the levels you mean are skill and reading of a game. Championship, League 1 & 2 have some grocks that are as strong and fast as PL players but may be limited in technical ability......that will be the difference. Beto will be a handful due to his physicality

I don’t think we should be using our centerbacks as the measuring stick.

Still, no, they wouldn’t have let him past on his goal.

The more encouraging bit was the header even though it didn’t go in.

I’m not disparaging the guy, but the Doncaster match isn’t necessarily a sign of things to come.

Division 2 defenders are technically worse than PL defenders obviously, but there are some absolute units down there so they will play the game rough and strong. Beto just brushed them aside…

I can see a lot of defenders going down pretending their face has been hit to stop the play. One of his biggest challenges will be the referees whistle.

Beto looks like he can run thriugh a brick wall. The only thing he'll need to worry about are sly arse defenders conning refs he's roughing them up.

Beto looks very impressive.

If he keeps fit we have a chance at survival.

I dont care that was against Doncaster last night, he made it look like men against boys and they were powerless to stop him. The PL will have better defenders, but they wont handle that raw power too easily.

I've seen enough.
I just watched the extended highlights, and Im super impressed. The way he left the doncaster defender in the dust for his goal was beautiful, and so was that immesely powerful header to the bar. Exited to see more of him.

Apart from the goal, the header and the unfortunate offside (which he slotted with aplomb btw), particularly enjoyed seeing him bulldozer one of their CH who tried to tackle him on the edge of the 18y box. CH was left ironed out on the deck (might even have need the physio)
Splendid.

Was hoping we would have got him in January. Very happy he's here. I actually enjoy watching seria A and defenders do not like playing against this guy one bit. He can be a bit awkward with the ball at his feet but his power and intensity are very real. Not sure he has the touch for a 20 goal season but he is 10 to15 a season and will bully defenders on most days.

He’ll be a massive nuisance to and create space for others because defenders will be very wary about getting in a one on one race with him due to not just his speed but his size and strength. Smaller quick players can be neutralised by big defenders blocking and nudging them but making contact with Beto looks risky because there a decent chance you may end up flat on your face.

15 goals a season and he’s effectively replaced Richarlison. So fingers crossed! Early days but obviously looks exciting. Here’s hoping!
