There was a moment in the match last night, I think after the 90th minute, when Johnstone collected the ball. Beto was in the 18 but turned his back on him. DCL was a further 20 yards from Beto but had to go press Johnstone so he’d stop wasting time.
It’s not laziness, but stunning lack of awareness. Making the guy who’s been on the pitch for 90 minutes go chase. I wish I remembered the time but I’m sure it was after 90.

It can’t be by much if he did I haven’t checked but I doubt if he started more than 10 games for us.

We’re talking about at Everton though I’ve said I’m not saying he’s not useless he’s obviously not but scoring 10 goals a season in Italy doesn’t mean he can be successful here just like stracqualursi being top scorer in Argentina doesn’t.
So not a lot in it then and Beto probably ahead at the same point of the season.

Serie A is weak league an Beto certainly didn't stand out in that ( Why do you think they let us pay a year later )
I like the lad, I just can't see him making it in this league, and it doesn't take much game time to see it..
I would love him to prove me wrong, but he over tries and hasn't really got any natural ability..

I disagree that Serie A weak, it's been as competitive as it has been for many years recently. Agree that alone doesn't mean he'll be a success here but what I mean to say is that he will have a decent career in one of Europe's top leagues which obviously dwarves Straq.
I think his finishing is better than DCLs, he's also good at turning on the ball and running at defenders. That said he is very clumsy and his overall link up and hold up play isn't as good as DCLs.

I'd say that in the little time we have seen Chermiti, he looks to have had a greater impact than Beto. Whether that's a reflection or not of Beto's performances, god knows.
