To be fair, the game still needed to be played out yesterday. I could see why Dyche wasn't quick to make subs it was a proper team performance and chaning the dynamics of this could have changed the result.Chermiti is in a similar boat and again deserves game time, but in order of where we are now Beto should be getting close to half an hour given how many minutes injury time is tacked on.
If Dyche or whoever still doesn't fancy him in the summer or next January then we can look to move him on and Chermiti gets bumped up to that role.
We've paid 40 million for these two and the only way you get that back or in an ideal situation more is if they play regularly and score goals, we can't afford to create situations like what we had with Tosun. If you buy a player on a punt for a few million fair enough, but not 20+.
In a results based business I know it is difficult to do but with limited funds that need to be managed carefully to help improve the squad to help the results, this is not something we can just ignore.
I actually think £20m is the new "punt" range for a premier league striker. You are not buying proven quality for less than that.If you buy a player on a punt for a few million fair enough, but not 20+.
Was a bit surprised Chermiti got the nod ahead of him yesterday. Hopefully that’s a sign that he is improving though. As said above, nice to have options, especially ones which aren’t Maupay.
Its a nice luxury to have, a bit of depth up front isnt it.

We are now in a situation where we all predicted. A 100% fit DCL keeps out any second choice striker. Beto should get 90 mins against Burnley. As much as I would like a run in the cup I would rather we get players fit to stay up.

Suspect we see Beto start on Wed.
….thought it was telling that in his post-match interview DCL said “I like the Caribou Cup’, which suggests he’s expecting to start on Wednesday. I expect Beto to be on the bench.
…strange bringing on Chermiti ahead of him. Maybe Dyche isn’t overly impressed or isn’t happy with his training.
Need to find the minutes/confidence/form in Beto IMO.
He'll be needed.
Dyche was shouting at him in the game when he came on the other week for not challenging for the ball but that isn't really his game if you ever saw him for Udinese. He wants it played in front of him to run onto at feet, you can see him pointing to the ground at times. I hope we can find some use for him and we did have to get someone in for backup but I did find it a slightly strange signing as his profile doesn't quite match the way we play.…strange bringing on Chermiti ahead of him.
