2024/25 Beto

No it doesnt. You're just making that up lol. Nobody on this forum is saying he's a good player. But people are quite rightly pointing out his goals to game time ratio. You've just posted about oh he gets stoppage time to score aswell. Yeah thats right. He gets thrown on usually with 10/15 minutes left and look at some of his goals.
Newcastle. Came on 85th minute. Scored 96th
Bournemouth. Came on 79th minute. Scored 87th
Fulham. Came on 81st minute. Scored 94th
The evidence is right there poking you in the eye.
He's a crap footballer but id put hard earned money on him scoring more than 5 in a full season if he started every week.
I agree with your general point about him being a more natural goalscorer than DCL, but some players just do suit being a sub and it's possible he falls into that category in this league at least. Maybe being thrown on for 15 minutes and just told to try and get on the end of something allows him to look better than starting and being told to run the channels, hold the ball up etc. Not everybody with a good record as a sub translates it to scoring more when they start.

The guy is not a target man, he doesn't suit the role and can't do the things Dom can, he needs balls played in behind so he can run off the shoulder, he has pace and isn't a bad finisher but play him back to goal and he looks worse than he is.

Is he the answer, definitely not but give the boy a chance and play to his strengths at least.
It's not that easy though is it? Changing the entire style of play in order to get more out of him is clearly harder than asking him to adapt to the style of play.

I dont think he would no. He's a terrible player.
But the original point i replied to was he doesnt score 5 goals over a season if he started every week.
Give me that bet all day long as its getting my money.

In terms of his minutes played in the PL over the last 2 seasons, he's played the equivalent of about 14 full matches.
No that's 44 by @catcherintherye ridiculous maths

IMO there's a difference between not playing a full 90 minutes and coming off the bench for 15 minutes here and there

He knows this deep down. He just thinks he's being edgy here.

There's no reason we can't play him the type of passes that Armstrong made to him against Portsmouth or Lindstrom played to him in the U21 at start of season. It's not exactly revolutionary football is it? Changing the entire style of play - give me a break.

Did you read my post or the one it was responding to? The whole point was that we would have to change the entire way of playing because we currently ask him to play with his back to goal and he can't do it. Playing in any way which doesn't involve asking our striker to spend a significant amount of time playing with their back to goal would be an absolutely monumental shift in the way we set up to play - if you don't realise that I can only assume you've never actually seen an Everton game.
