DCL is miles better than Beto at holding the ball and bringing others into play. As a striker he is as poor as they come. We need to get someone else in or even adapt our play to whoever becomes the striker

Im not sure DCL is better at that. Hes become very flimsy nowadays.
What he is better at, is jumping and getting a head on the ball, but in the absence of any support up top, it counts for nothing.
