If we do have a long run in the League Cup and even get a few more lucky draws and make the final, the downside to that would be BK would be throwing himself infront of every available camera hogging the limelight and doing interviews on every radio station possible like he did in the build up to the 2009 FA Cup final. We'd be seeing his smug grid everywhere.

He's nowhere to be seen when times are bad though.
He’s probably put more effort than you in watching everton traveling from London every home game ,, maybe not so much the last few years,, people who put him down make me laugh sometimes.. he put as much money into the club as he could at the time,, we only know half what goes on behind closed doors.. but never forget he’s probably one of the biggest committed evertonion out there.... yer he’s made mistakes but bill is a true committed blue...

Campbell IS a legend because he saved us from certain doom. He is also iconic as our first black captain and generally a top bloke who was always really good with the fans. I don't really get why you don't understand that?

Also Kevin Campbell was all about pace?? Really? Why do you think that?
It definitely wasn’t certain relegation you idiot. He came in for the final 8 games. We only needed to win 2 to be safe. We won 4 and had to play 5 games against teams in the bottom half with us, 3 at home.

Don’t try and make out we were bottom of the league and won 7 out 8 thanks to super Kev.

I would say his biggest attributes were his power & pace, because 1 goal in every 3.5 games. Is not a prolific goal scorer

We were doomed that season until Campbell and Gemmill (who's role is overlooked during that run) came in.

I don't understand why you are trying to downplay the role of a club legend. Do you not like him or something? His signing absolutely transformed us that season, we were sleepwalking into trouble. He scored 9 in 8 games, won player of the month and was our top goalscorer that season even though he only played about a quarter of the games due to being a late window signing.

And do me a favour and don't call me an idiot. You wouldn't call me one to my face so don't do it here. I have the decency to not call you names so show a bit of decorum eh?

I’m down playing a club legend and his name is Kevin Campbell lol.
Let’s be serious is he really a club legend, like you say had a great start with his 9 in 8, even though we weren’t in dire straits like you make out.

We won 4 of his 8 games. Against 5 teams also struggling in the bottom half . And we only needed to win 2 of the 8 and we would have been safe.

His next 5 seasons on huge money, he averaged playing about 27 games a season scoring 1 in 3.5. Is that really value for money? And the last couple of seasons, all I remember was him being injured, which is no really surprise, this happens to a lot of players who are 34/35. That’s why the 5 yr deal was a joke.

He maybe a legend for some things off the pitch, in terms of helping the profile of the club and racism. But he definitely isn’t as a player.

Graham Stuart isn’t a Everton legend in my eyes, but he’s a bigger one than Campbell. Stuart actually scored in a pressure relegation game. And had a huge impact in the cup win.

Stuart is absolutely a legend for me. Legendary status isn't just about sustained brilliance (it helps of course) its about moments. I would have Mike Trebilcock down as an Everton legend and he only played 11 times for us.

I think you are downplaying or forgetting how abject we were that season, you say we needed 2 wins, the way we were going we were not going to get any wins at all.

He was injured because he pushed himself too hard when he had a knock and it did him in. Either way it shouldn't effect his standing at the club not should it be used against Kewnright as he was not the chairman at the time...and even if he was, so what? You back your manager, if he wants the player you make it happen if you can.

Yeah I thought it was pretty much well known that she had done a lot of good work especially with the EITC stuff?

I don't really go as much as I used to any more, too much money not enough reward. Watched it on the snide of course. Wins a win. Professional, if a bit of a dour performance. Really hoping we make a proper go of the league cup, we need "something" to get us at least vaguely excited.
I listened to her speak at an Everton FC AGM in the Philarmonic Hall a couple of years ago, she spoke for about twenty minutes, it seemed more like twenty hours, bored me rigid, she was on early this year, when I found out she was speaking I never bothered going, at least you can laugh at soft lad ( you’ll know who I mean) when he gives his Oscar winning drivel.

Surprised you don’t go to the game much any more Papa, if we get to the final any chance of your ticket, for a good mate of mine who isn’t very well, I’ll take him with me?

I'm no great fan of Bill Kenwright, but he's not completely responsible for our decline, he's just done little to stem the tide. Our problems started 48 years ago when we sold Alan Ball
Spot on mate, the day we sold Alan Ball was the day we ceased to me a truly big club. Sure we have won plenty since, but, before the Ball sale, players never thought about leaving the blues until the club decided they were no longer good enough.

Stats can be used anyway they want to be. I am I total agreement with you, Campbell kept Everton up. We got beat at home by Sheffield Wednesday in early April and I honestly thought we were going down at the point. Campbell came in, formed a decent partnership with Jeffers and we had a threat about us after that. Also he had bottle at Anfield, which hasn't been seen much in the last 20 years.

Yes, technically he did - a pity that it totalled FA. nothing, not one brass wazoo
He never mortgaged his house to buy the shares. Each time he borrowed to increase his holding the debt went into the club's accounts - Everton Ltd paided it off for him...at high interest rates.
You're living in a fantasy world.
Either that or you're a total WUM
In a way I hope you are and if so I hold my hands up, you got me, done me like a dinner etc.
But such is the state of some out there, I fear you actually believe all that Goebbels-esque propaganda

I would describe Blue Bill as a lachrymose type at a general level. Potty wasn’t generally inclined to weeping but homesickness did for him. So comparisons between Bill and Potty might not bear too much scrutiny. Having said that, if Bill ever got homesick, I imagine he’d gush like Iguazu.
