Bill Kenwright

I didn't think it was possible for me to have a shred of compassion toward Kenwright for the damage he's done. Turns out I was wrong. THAT is how poor the targetting of him over his health issues have been.

It's like his opponents in that movement are so infuriated that what they've tried so far has failed to formally bring down the axe on him they've lost all rationality.

It's beyond squalid.

I'd pitchfork Kenwright out all day, but I'd never be a party to that.

Sorry, but not in my name.

Moshiri will see him off in the summer either by the sale of the club or part sale to people insisting on a new boardroom.

There's some shameful stuff going on at this club. Right at the moment we need focus there's people who no doubt want to show how they can run this club better willing to shove a big 'kin stick into a hornets nest. I for one will never forgive them.

The statement last night, struck me as a possible parting haymaker- something has been decided behind the scenes would be my suspicion.

….I’ve never warmed to the man. We all love our club but we don’t repeatedly try and impress by talking about the Boys Pen and Dave Hickson.

For me, Kenwright has totally mismanaged our club but has been lucky doing so. Inevitably, gross mismanagement of a football club will manifest itself in performance on the pitch. His ego continues to get in the way. Communication is more about him than our beloved Toffees.

The great Chairman of our past were decent men who worked tirelessly for the club and acted in the interest of Everton, not themselves. They will be turning in their graves.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see him start going to Anfield to watch the RS if he's finally forced out of here. He's narcissistic enough to see himself as a Bill Shankly type figure and want to repeat that old fools line of "I have been greated more warmly at Goodison then I am at Anfield" but done in reverse. Because it appeals to his sense of the dramatic. He'll want to portray himself as the selfless, deposed leader. There's a very good chance that he'll write a tell-all book attacking everyone involved at the club, especially the fans. This scumbag won't just go quietly into the night, no matter what happens

I could seriously see this too

He loves a narrative

Same, he always came across as a smarmy slimeball. That was long before his actions proved what he is.

The problem the Chairman faces, though, is that Evertonians showed respect to a truly great man of football in Bill Shankly. Why wouldn't we treat him with honour and regard? We were most happy to prop him up in the stand and show our hospitality. It suited him and it suited us. But why would Liverpool do similar to Kenwright? I mean, very few people outside of the local fanbases even know who that man is. They wouldn't recognise him. He is the most unsuccessful long-serving chairman in the history of Everton Football Club. Now, other than Liverpool using him for a squalid, low-rent laugh which wouldn't really travel beyond Merseyside, they'd have no reason whatsoever to accommodate him. He's a nothing figure in football. Shankly was an icon.

It's not like Howard Kendall going across the Park in 1991.

You're right about the book, though. Last night's statement shows that Bill likes to air the dirty linen in public. That'll be a personal car crash for him, though.
