You could be right Jeff that Kenwright is not a Kopite but he says how he used to go in the Boys Pen at Goodison but never explains who he went with or mentions which games he saw but goes into detail how he went to Anfield on the crossbar of his Uncle Cyril’s bike and was handled up the Kop by supporters until he reached his uncle, another far fetched story, it’s hard to believe a word that comes out of his mouth, I wouldn’t be surprised if he never went to either ground when he was younger but spent those days at matinees in picture houses dreaming of when he would become a big time film star. - - - - - he would have been perfect for the lead role in Billy Liar.
If people were able to trace my early days following football in Liverpool based on occasional activity, I could easily have been believed to be a red.
I went to Anfield a lot when Everton were away and usually in their boys pen but often in the Kemlyn Rd stand when I went with my dad. I actually wagged school one day to watch them play an FA Cup replay against Man City.

If Kenwright supported Liverpool at any time at all - and I say if - he must have been a very lukewarm fan to later take up such a prominent position at Everton. I mean, why would he? He was, and is very successful in business.

My dad, who signed himself out of hospital one Saturday morning to go to the match, used to go to Anfiled when we were olay

He’s made more money out of football than his business enterprises though Jeff.

I used to go to Anfield a lot when I was younger and, as you say, Everton were playing away, I ran from school and got in at three quarter time to see that game v Man. City, thought I was going to see another thirty minutes of extra time when Billy Liddell thought he had scored the equaliser but the referee had blew the full time whistle as the ball was in flight on it’s way to the net, Not all referees are bad ones and Merfyn Griffiths who I think was the ref. that day was better than most.

My dad said he blew the whistle then because he thought he would've missed his train home if it went any longer. I mean, as if.
