Bill Kenwright

This is a disgrace! 😡
I'm not so sure it is.

It's a statement of fact. He had plenty of opportunity to get out (a significantly more wealthy man than when he arrived) but seemingly never even considered it. (unless of course you believe Moshiri refused his resignation, 7 years later following the headlock fantasy story)

When Moshiri bought the 2nd tranche of shares and Bill stayed on, his passing was the only way he was getting out.

The biggest disappointment of the Moshiri era wasn't the I'll-judged managerial appointments or the reckless spending (all of which Bill's Board should have pushed back much harder on) it was the fact he kept Kenwright front and centre.

That disastrous decision means it's hard to have sympathy with him over 100s of millions lost.

Kenwright - The worst thing to ever happen to Everton. I'll argue this until I'm in the ground with him.

He was only the Chairman. DBB was the CEO running things on a day to day basis
Who appointed her? Bill.

Why? Because she'd never challenge him on anything.

Same goes for Sharp. A hero in his playing days, grateful for a well paid job.

Moshiri installed Ryzanstev as CFO, Bill and DBB closed ranks so he walked. Replaced by another internal promotion.

It's heartbreaking to think we're we would be knowing we're were about to spend close to 700 million but with a bit of competence in place.

What did he have to do with the new stadium then?
It's mind bending people are trying to give him credit for the new stadium.

He lost us King's Dock through his ego.

He then tried to surrender the city to our neighbours to keep his mates happy.

Without Moshiri and his mate, we'd still be slapping paint over the cracks at Goodison.

You’ve inadvertently hit the nail on the head there. Moshiri could have pushed him out anytime he wanted to.

This is what I keep saying. There are plenty of things that can be levelled at Bill but Moshiri is ultimately responsible for the last 7-8 years and the position Everton Football Club finds itself in today.

Let’s say Moshiri had just died of cancer instead, does anyone really believe that his thread would be filled with as much bile as this one?

It wouldn’t. Simple as that.

I think you have just replied to either Jenny Seagrove, DBB or Graeme Sharp! :D

Difference is Moshiri’s has proved he hasn’t clue how to run a football club, just like Bill. Clowns the pair of them

Moshiri has been hit in his pocket for his failings. Bill has hung around like a bad smell from over 30yrs and made money

There's no doubt that Bill didn't get everything right as Chairman and stayed on far too long in the end, but if you take in to account what happened from 2004 onwards (Chelsea Russian takeover, Man City Abu Dhabi takeover) He managed to keep the club effectively punching above it's weight for the majority of that time.

The reason that Moshiri kept him front and centre was mainly due to his passion and dedication to the club. I was never lucky enough to meet Bill but one of my friends did and she said that the thing that struck her the most was how that he knew everybody's name, from the tea lady to the car park attendant, Bill knew them all!

Everybody is entitled to their opinion but being glad that Bill is dead shows a complete lack of class, and dignity!

Can't help yourself, can you?

I'm sorry for his friend's and family. The pain of loss they're feeling won't pass for quite some time.

I'm absolutely delighted he's no longer meddling in the day to day goings on at Everton. We can finally start to scrub away the stench of failure that has gripped the club since he gained control. How he can dress any of it up as 'good times' beggars belief. It means our motto was just that, a meaningless motto rather than something we should aspire to.

I'm also hopeful that his 'legacy' is dismantled brick by brick and his lies and selfishness when it comes to Everton is laid bare for all to see. I'd like nothing more than for his enablers and arse sniffers in the media and fansbase to have their faces rubbed in it and they feel acute embarrassment for being taken in by a charlatan.

Now he's gone, things will start to emerge. Nailed on.

Toodle pip!

Quite right as well sympathy for his family is crucial, just ignore the little drama Queen.
