I'll get angry at other teams doing it when the likes of Arteta stops doing it for us.

I don't like it when any of our players do it either (and yes I get upset when we do it)

But Formica was way out of order today. He wasn't interested in playing football.

I hope thats a joke? Blackburn have been in the Premierleauge for 16-17-18 seasons winning the title during that stint.

Thats a bit disrespectful to them, I don't like Rovers but I would never say that.

Not a joke. To be fair, I am commenting on their current side, which I find to be one of the poorest in the league. Look at it this way: our two opponents so far have played a total of 4 games outside the ones against us. And they have 4 losses in those 4 games.

Good lord. I spent the entire game grimacing at my TV, only to shake my head in disbelief (and thanks) when we were granted a pen. I also thought it was payment for the crap calls against Cahill (who had a decent game streaking towards goal, not so much in the middle).

I will take the three points and hope we start this season differently. I love supporting this team, never a dull moment.

When I saw the starting line-up I was dismayed as well. Fellaini at 2nd striker? Wha?????? No wingers???? (Oh, that's a usual occurrence).

I hope Barkley recovers - he continued to be a gem, and all I thought from the PK was that he was just demonstrating his age. Not good, not bad, just the fact that he's 17. And frankly, though I didn't like what Formica did either, I thought it was a legit PK and he didn't burn me as much as the rest of you. We ended up with the three points, so whatever Formica (couldn't get the image of a kitchen counter out of my head for the whole game no matter how much the announcer said Formeeka)!

One image that disturbed me was around the 70th minute when Neville got caught out too far down the pitch and looked absolutely gassed trying to get back (he didn't make it). GASSED. I'm worried for him and us.

The rest of our team had the "Everton disease" all game. Minus Baines and THo. Distin had moments of brilliance (usually when he was picking up after a Jags error), and moments of "NO!". Arteta took the peno well, but was kinda stinky otherwise. Anichebe made me actually yell "GET UP!" at the TV (though he served a beauty of a ball to Fellaini). Fellaini had a miserable game. Osman didn't do much.

I'm scared for us. Normally wins inspire confidence yes, but this didn't really feel confidence building for me.

Finally, USA, USA, USA!!!!!!!!!! Tim Howard, MOTM. Kisses.

Anyone else think that Jags has his mind on something else?? How many times did he give the ball away and look like a rabbit caught in headlights.

Bily, why do he always look like he is making his debut? Always looks brand new and lost.

The whole team looks lost at the minute, something is wrong with them if you ask me because i haven't seen a team play so badly in so many consecutive games(bar sheffield utd a lower league side). we are pish

2 games played, 1 goal scored a penalty, barely any chances created against 2 teams that most people are expecting to be fighting relegation the signs are not good.

On the bright side 'things can only get better' i hope anyway

The people who claim Bily was sh*** obviously have some kind of agenda against him. He didn't have long on the pitch but when he was on he made one or two bursts from the right wing inside which caused them a lot of trouble. He didn't change the game, but offered something different.

I'm not going to pretend like our problems are solved after this, but I've rarely cheered so much when Mikel tucked it home. Absolutely vital, and we'll go into the 2 week break in a much happier tone.

I agree - but this win may change things - as now doubt this season-by-season poor start becomes more of a psychological problem than a footballing one. Confidence makes a huge difference - so despite the lousy performance, hopefully the three points will make a difference.

I back U on this one. Maybe Osman instead of Rodwell...

What about playing something a tad bit different?

-------------------------------------- Anichebe --------------------------------------
----------------------------- Fellaini ------------ Cahill ------------------------------
---------------------- Arteta (c) ----- Heitinga ------ Rodwell --------------------
-- Baines --------------------------------------------------------------- Coleman --
---------------------------- Distin ------------------- Jagielka -----------------------
--------------------------------------- Howard ----------------------------------------

I don't think we should play Barkley at this stage of his development, 20 minutes now and then is fine.

That midfield is pretty creative, Fellaini can drop back pulling off a opposition defender for Baines to move into the free space left. Coleman is also brilliant at playing as a wingback, Heitinga can drop into either flank when they move up and Rodwell can drop back aswell so we aren't caught on the counter. Arteta will be allowed to move across the park and Cahill will just cause troubles with late runs. After a defensive clearence, Anichebe can hold the ball up untill either flank moves up and gives support. Plenty of options on the bench then if we need to change anything or mix it up.
