BLOWING THE GOLDEN BOOT

Started this thread more to point out that HE has blown the chance to win the golden boot by his laziness since deciding he was not signing a contract and could not be arsed.

It was not to start a hate campaign against a naturally gifted goal scorer, but more to point out that at the end of the day if you push yourself (Harry Kane etal) you can acheive.

Mr Lukaku, has decided that he does not want to be at Everton, and so gave up along time ago. For those who knock him I understand where you are coming from, but for those who knock those who knock him it does not make them bitter, just like myself, disappointed that he knows he will get his move if he stamps his feet hard enough and yet still has not the slightest iota of loyalty to the fans that have praised him throughout his time here.

Listen to the spuds fans and how they cheer Kane throughout the game. What does Kane do that Rom doesn't? He tries - that's all!!!!!

So please, for those who think us bitter to be having a go, step back, look at our comparisons between the two and see that we actually do appreciate good, talented, hardworking footballers with their privileged lifestyles - but do expect a little back. And Kane seems to give it back to the spuds supporters even when not scoring, by showing a little effort.

Can we attract Aguero, Suarez or Kane? No.
Vardy we could but give me Romelu all day over that rat face..

Not saying who we could or couldn't attract, just highlighting what other strikers give to the team. He is a lazy git and it has cost him the golden boot.

I think our resident big ego striker wants to keep himself in pristine shape for his big move in the summer. So he decided to take the remainder of the season off and sacrifice winning the golden boot in the process. The same as he did last season.Who knows the replacement striker might be a bit more humble in his attitude to this great club.Works his socks off.Give it his all.Be actually capable of trapping a ball and who knows he might actually show up in the big games. All things that Lukaku is incapable of.

..I suspect he knew he wasn't going to sign a contract at the beginning of the season. He's never been a run around striker, he's a top drawer finisher but even those have spells when they don't score.

I don't want him to leave, but his attitude makes it very difficult for me to actually like him.

I genuinely believed we could have kept him another year. But our 'fans' just made it impossible for him to stay. Nice work lads

IF we did end up selling Lukaku for around 85m say, and we we nded up using that money directly to replace and strengthen in depth the forward positions with say Mertens (30-35m?) Dolberg (30-35m?) Sandro (5m?) and Iheanacho (15-20m), the team would be so much stronger.

Problem is, the fear that IF we sold him we'd end up getting players who will be a massive step down and/or without the potential to reach Lukakus level or higher.

Mertens would provide the experience and he's prolific when played centrally and is very very good played wide and drifting in as well, Dolberg has so much potential and already looks quality, Sandro is a cheap punt with a huge ceiling and provides versatility, and Iheanacho is another with huge potential who is a real clinical finisher for his age.

We will end up with Gray and Deeney though won't we....

Kane goals versus the top 6 = 3
Lukaku goals versus the top 6 = 3

I don't really care what Kane does against the top teams as I don't follow Spurs, but I bet he puts a shift in and doesn't just trudge around us interested for 90 minutes. Lukaku is in the main poor against the top teams and I'm being to think he will only be good against them if he plays for one of them, if he stay and improves against the top teams then he can become a top player, Lukaku has to do more than score against the like of Hull and Swansea to convince me that he can be a top player here.

Before Walter Smith's time as well, I think.

1996 wasn't it?
You could well be right, but I'm fed up with not getting an away win against them, Chelsea and Liverpool since before Moyes time here, also the only away win we have against United in all that time is when Moyes was their manager. It's an absolute joke our away record against the top teams. Even having a 20 odd goalscorers hasn't changed thing, if we want to be a top 4 team that record needs to change ASAP.

..I always say when after a new manager you should scrutinise his record in the transfer market. RK and SW are paid lots of money, they need to earn it in this window if we are to continue moving in the right direction. Time will tell.

There's the rather strong whiff of racism about some of the comments on twitter about Lukaku.

Great isn't it. He scores about 70 goals for the club and will get that phony Moshiri out of jail with a summer transfer budget for us, but he's being viciously vilified.
I am with you on this. Sad days (n)

So if lukaku decides to leave Everton it will be because of the 'fans'? Be interesting to see how that goes down.
He was going to leave , but maybe iT would have been next summer. Now he's definitely going to leave this summer. Hand in that transfer request Rom, this lot doesn't deserve you

Kanes record against Arsenal and Chelsea

Arsenal (five goals, four games)

Chelsea (three goals, four games)

I'd like to know Lukaku's record.

Kane turns up in most games compared to Lukaku.
