All the talk of it being some kind of marketing coup or further establishing our brand  is utter bilge. If a Italian, Spanish or Argentinian side started using a crest or image more commonly associated with their local rivals based on the actual history of the club and region how many of us would sit up astonished and start supporting them and throwing our money at some club we'd previously not been arsed about?

The Liver Bird is now, rightly or wrongly, synonymous with the RS and Nerys Hughes. I can understand the resentment of that among some locals it really needs to be let go of. That... bird has flown.

How about we put "WELCOME TO NEW ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL" in big letters on the side? That was ours first after all and it emphasises where we are.

I'm going to have to strongly disagree their.
On a global level?
Trust me, no one's ever heard of the Liverbird.
Things that people outside the UK associate with Liverpool are
1. the Beatles locations/ Cavern club etc.
2. Liverpool FC/Anfield
and a very distant third
Everton/Goodison
The Royal Liver building and its birds doesn't even enter the conversation.

Locally, it's completely different.

Yes. It is a great symbol of this city and we are a big part of this city as well. It makes sense. Tower is EFC symbol, that makes an even bigger sense to be a part of our stadium. Yes to both.

It's a bit silly really wanting the Liver Bird. We will gain nothing other than fuel the local banter. Look at it this way, The Beatles aren't famous because they are from Liverpool, or because they are associated with the Liver Bird. They are not.
We don't want Everton to be known just as another Liverpool club. We want the world to know that the city of Liverpool is famous for being the home of Everton Football Club.

Boats and docks too, maybe

Yeah, and call one of our new stands the kop!!!!

Come on fellas, just let it go, we lost any right to the Liver Birds years ago, we have our own identity in a certain little tower which will now look over us in our nice new shiny stadium.

MOve on, spend time thinking about Everton and not that crowd miles away from the city centre.

We are Everton, we are better than pinching another clubs emblem for what?
