It was quite a way to mark David Moyes's 500th game in charge. A substitution of counterintuitive brilliance took Everton into the last 16 of the FA Cup. Being held by Bolton, the Scot removed supposedly his premier goalscorer, Nikica Jelavic, introduced, another defender, in Johnny Heitinga, and saw the substitute fire Everton through.

.....we won, it was hard work but we won. I always think about the positives and negatives.
Positives:
We're through and well done the Manager and the fantastic support.
We conceded, but we are looking a bit tighter at the back. Must stick with Jags and Buzz.
Negatives;
Mirallas out. I started a thread on here (injuries long injuries) about the 'expert' I spoke to about how we have all the medical equipment but nobody who knows how to use it. We need a new club Doctor.
Anichebe - I fully agreed that he deserved a start but is he an impact player. Is it time to cash in?

It was a defensive sub and you bloody well know it. He was playing for the replay. Pushing Fellaini up farther with whom exactly to play off of? No Jelavic, no Mirallas, a limping Anichebe and an ineffective Gueye. Moyes got very lucky today and this result does not cover the fact he's got balls of glass in cup competitions.

Some Blues need to get a grip, Away to a championship side, who have just come out of the PL, in a tricky FA Cup tie and you moan that we won! It was more about the result than the performance, a few years ago we would have lost this game.
