Boss photos you've taken

There's a new dinner that is going around
Called the Chomp...
do the Chomp.
You can do it to the rhythm of that caterpillar sound
It's the Chomp
do the Chomp....

Come on, how many of you started singing the tune The Bump, by Kenny???

Anyway...

Here's the chomp...

A sawfly caterpillar I suspect, chomping through a leaf in the garden tonight at aroun 11pm!

May be very had to do, but couid you have ago at taking some pics of Dragon Flies or Damson Flies ?

Used to see them all the time when I went fishing and when the light caught their wings in a certain way, they almost lit up.

So the annual pilgrimage to my garden might have started today for the ruby-tailed wasps, that seem to make a habit of returning year on year. The first time I have seen them this year (might not see them again for ages) - today there were 2 smaller males and this larger female, each of the three occasionally landing on the brickwork.

This one is handheld (rare for me that) but these little parasitic flyers are notoriously difficult to get close to as they just don't like to stay still...

On the fence tonight, and on the bird table in the garden, there are 3 Walnut Orb spiders strutting their stuff.

First is as close as I could get to the female on the fence - this was at 2:1 on the Venus 60mm lens, using a torch to illuminate the subject due to being so close, with a ringflash doing the rest. She is then shown further back. Then the other two are a male and a female on the bird table - perhaps these two may one day make lots of baby orbs...

Enjoys the fangs on Number 1...
