I’ve been legless on many occasions and I generally survive too ….This is a harvestman - they have 8 legs (usually) but this one has only seven - though it will survive just as well as any other despite losing a leg...
It is either Phalangium opilio, or the red harvestman Opilio canestrinii.

I’ve noticed loads active in the garden over the past few days, with the unseasonably warm weather.
Shouldn’t they be hibernating around about now ?

Took these shots during a camping trip this weekend. I really enjoy capturing the beauty of fire.

And yes, they should be tucked away in a warm cosy spot but climate can affect them a lot.

Normally find them tucked away in the cracks in the shed, along with bees.
I find them there too, and inside folds of bark in old trees.
I’ve found a couple of bats, happily sleeping behind the bark of old trees over the years.
We used to have a nest box tucked away in a quiet corner, that loads of wrens would pile into every night when it was really cold in the Winter too.
A few shots from the last few days. Grey Herons at Carr Mill Dam (plus turtles, if you have good eyesight) and a Cormorant at Bold Moss.
That's cool. Why are there turtles? Escapees or introductions?
