Even then I struggle to see an 11 without him. 3-5-2 still needs CM doesn't it?

He shouldn't be anywhere near the number 10/relying on him to do something up there.

We don't have anyone suitable for that position IMO. Maybe NDiaye but understand why they think easier to progress the ball from wide and he does that well.
A good coach/manager will adapt and come up with something different when the current plan isn't working.
That's what training is for.
We just keep playing the same way every single week. Our results and league position show it is not working.

But if we're saying FFS he's playing Doucoure again, we've got to acknowledge that there's not a lot we can do when you have to play CMs.

Do we think Gana and Mangala can cope in a 2 man midfield? If so, sound. Drop Doucoure for Calvert-Lewin.

If we don't think it's wise to have 2 man midfield, then Doucoure plays doesn't he. No getting around it, really.

Again mate the manager should be able to come up an alternative to it
He's getting paid 5 million a year to do so.
As I have said maybe something different may not work . But what's happening now isn't working either.
So try it.

I know we may not have a top 5 team but we are easily a group of players above mid-table. It’s choice, formations, willingness to adapt and change how you set up EVERY single game and within game.

As many have said, you can’t set up every game the same way. Every team is different. Not all games are winnable. But our lot would be so much improved by being creative.

Instead of being reliant on Seamus and Young, we should’ve been blending in Dixon and Jake from day one along side the veterans. Can’t get PL experience if your manager never gives it to you. Training tells the gaffer things on how his players are doing in a controlled environment and Dyche uses that to affect whether they play or not. Who knows where these new guys would be half a season in if they’d been involved in every match.

Doucoure should not be given this extended run on form alone. No other manager picks him after last week.
It is now ripe for having Ndaiye in his perferred 10 position, having Broja coming in from the left which he is known for. Leaving Beto/DCL in the 9 role. Young has the experience to do a stint at left back so Patterson could comfortably get a spot. Rest of the side as is.....no real alternatives with 3 midfielders still out.

Dyche lived and breathed 4-4-2 at Burnley but seems allergic to it here even after watching his strikers be isolated game after game.

Broja left wing?

Really?

Genuine question I've not seen a lot of him.

Has he ever played left wing?
