Boxing

Think he picked his moment well. Didn’t go chasing the knockout too early even though Wilder looked there for the taking after the 5th round. Could have been very easy to walk onto one of Wilders right hand bombs chasing the ko.
Kept ducking, diving, bobbing, weaving. Stayed behind the jab, unleashed the bomb when Wilder dropped his guard. No idea whatsoever I am talking about!

Yeah people consistently don't realise this - Fury's best win was confusing Klitschsko on points. Wilder is atrocious, always has been, his career the most padded record you'll ever see at the 'top level'. Joshua/Whyte/Usyk beat him fairly easily barring one lucky punch. What makes Fury's wins over Wilder decent are that they were away from home and in varied ways.

But yes, Fury has only beaten two notable people in his career (three if you add Chisora but... meh) - one of whom Joshua knocked out 18 months after Fury danced around him for 12 rounds, and the other a technical novice with a power shot and nothing else. This isn't the reincarnation of Muhammad Ali we're talking about here in terms of boxing record.

Fury/Joshua is still a 50/50 fight to me in every way.

Wilder has a few ok wins, Breazeale and Ortiz are decent fighters but a lot of his wins are at best british/european level heavys. The Ortiz fight showed that Wilder would be dangerous against most, especially against AJ and Whyte who both can switch off and are open at times.

Fury doesn't have a lot of great wins due to his inactivity. Wallin is probably one of his better wins. For me Fury would need to beat 2 or 3 more from the top 10 and definitely needs to become undisputed to be a top 10 heavy all time.

I don’t know who beats who, what I do know is that if Fury is now considered an all time great it really doesn’t take much to become one nowadays.
He's been blessed by his size and mentality. 6 foot 9 and the strong mental power to lose over 50% of his body weight when he looked like he could have been heading for an early grave through drink and drugs. He's gone on to earn about 100m in just a few years and has won every bout apart from being robbed in the first fight against Wilder. I wouldn't call him one of the all-time greats just yet, but if he can defend his titles a few more times then he definitely has to be.

One thing that’s annoyed me lately about Boxing is fighters or ex fighters coming out saying Whyte doesn’t deserve his shot against Fury because it’s a easy win for Fury. Although that’s true and Fury will win, he still should be defending his title against challengers. That’s why he’ll never go down as an all time great for me right now.

Hate that all the American promoters have piggybacked off the success of British boxing, got involved again and messed the sport up.

How ironic...
Dilliam Whyte makes comments about pulling out to ensure he fights fury....says he won't as he's a proper fighter....
Pulls out 'injured'
