Boxing

The only fight I want to see is Fury/Usyk. Fury would have AJ in knots before the fight even started and think the actual fight would be comprehensively one sided.
Commpletely one sided.

Usyk would be fascinating, favour Fury because of the height and weight but Usyk would make him work for every bit of it. What a win that would be if Usyk could pull that, would go down as one of the all time great, in what 20 fights? Unreal.

Povetkin
Klitschko
Parker
Ruiz
Puluv?

I’m saying Joshua’s win over Klitschko was a better win because of the spectacle of it all, thrilling fight, entertaining, both went down, was in front of Wembley, many consider it one of the greatest heavyweight fights of all time.

Fury’s win over Klitschko was just as much as a great win no doubt, but Joshua vs Klitschko will go down as the better fight.
AJ vs Klitschko was a more entertaining fight no doubt, but Fury went to his backyard as a massive underdog and made a guy who was unbeaten for 11 years look silly.

That win alone puts him head and shoulders above any other heavyweights in this era.

The heavyweight division is a bit of a joke isn't it really

I don't doubt that any heavyweight from whatever era would have a difficult time with Fury considering his size and ability but as someone who didn't rate Wilder at all. There's only the Klitschko win. Not really good enough to be up there with the GOATs is it?

I think the problem is as the division has got bigger and heavier, it's lost some of the quality. You need to be massive and there's not too many of them about... And at least in America, they'll be playing basketball or American football. Which
actually was what Wilder was doing until he picked up boxing at 20. Joshua also a late comer to the sport after getting spotted due to his size.

My theory anyway.

Didn’t really make him look silly did he though? He won the fight by about 3/4 rounds max.

This era of heavyweight boxing is miles better than the previous years. That’s it, but every era has 3 or 4 elite fighters, the rest are average.

Imagine social media or forums around, when Lennox Lewis was getting sparked out by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman, who by the way had a few loses on there records prior to that fight, but he goes down as the greatest of his era, why? Because he revenged his defeats, and cemented his legacy by beating Mike Tyson, no matter if he was past his best. He needed Tyson to cement his legacy.

Interesting too, Mike Tyson’s first world title win, for the vacant WBC title, Lennox Lewis first world title. Also for the vacant WBC wiring title. But you have to beat the man to be recognised a works title according to some.

Ruiz wasn’t a freak one at all and it was nothing like Lewis V Rahman which was a one shot job. Ruiz out battled him and out fought him both where down multiple times, Ruiz was the better fighter that night no doubt about it.

Usyk schooled him on every level, embarrassed him.

Ruiz was still a freak result really. Awkward powerful smaller bloke, he underestimated him and couldn’t get near him. Sorted him completely in the rematch.

It was not a freak result at all, Ruiz matched him and got the better of him in every department. Credit to Joshua for going straight in for the rematch cannot take that away from him.

Ruiz didn’t exactly do himself justice in the shape he showed up in after eating out on the AJ, literally. That’s nothing against Joshua it’s not his fault his opponent was unprofessional.

If they fought again and Ruiz turns up in half decent shape I think it would be a pick em fight.

Spot on as usual, Barry.

That is why the bookies were placing odds for AJ at around-2500, and Ruiz at +900.

And what? All that means if they dropped the ball and AJ was massively over hyped and people believed the Hearn hype train.

They built him as some sort of unstoppable force, when in reality he was always fragile and limited (taking nothing away from him he’s a good fighter). He’s been comprehensively between twice now. If it was a freak result like you say and they offered then odds again you would absolutely snap their hands off. I would take Ruiz at 2/1, if he got himself in any sort of shape and condition.

God bless you, Barry. I don't care if others laugh at you, I respect you for trying.

I take it he’s not training with team canelo anymore?

Think he left that camp a few months ago. Isn’t he due to fight some kick-boxer or mma fighter next? The was talk of the fight with Ortiz next but not sure what’s happening.

It’s going to be an interesting lay out for the heavyweight division So many good and interesting fights to be made.
