Boxing

Don’t talk sense now, the is a reason he was out the ring for his 3 year battle with “depression” also known that him and his uncle were taking payments in drug money from his mate DK.

On a serious note, PED’s are in every sport. They only use it against them when the time is right. If the was a full investigation, sports would be tainted. I’d say 90% of fighters are on some kind of PED.

He clearly was depressed. I don't think he ballooned up to 30 stone for no reason?

It’s more common to pop someone in an individual sport but it goes on in team sports. Just look at that report about then16 footballers recently and how it was hushed. To much money in team sports for the to be a full investigation. Not a fan of baseball but don’t majority of there top batters always test positive for peds? They aren’t bothered because of the money they get.
Not a fan of baseball either really but there have been a few big PED scandals in the MLB. Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Jason Giambi, Alex Rodriguez in the past 20 years or so. All massive players. But baseball is a slightly more individual team sport. In the cases I’ve mentioned they were all hitters so having extra strength and power made a huge difference. If I remember correctly McGwire and Sosa broke home run records for fun

I’m sure he was depressed. But PED’s don’t just make you stronger or have better cardio, they mess with your mind too. Add that to the cocaine and I imagine booze and other stuff it’s not a surprise his mind was a complete mess. Maybe I shouldn’t have brought it up but he has been banned for doping and surely that does taint his legacy a bit

What do you think led to his depression? He was on the verge of been banned leading up to the rematch with Klitschko. The was a reason he wasn’t in training for the rematch because he was been investigated. The BBBC had pretty much banned him, his cousin too. This led to him staying out of the gym, going on benders and snorting coke he was getting from DK. Pretty sure Fury was suing the BBBC, the was a reason he was refusing to fight in the U.K. the was a reason he stayed out of the ring for 3 years, because he wasn’t allowed to fight in then U.K. whilst under investigation. The fact they couldn’t even sell out the M.E.N. Arena for the rematch didn’t help, so the fight got pulled. Which led him go on more of a spiral.

Pretty sure he suffers from Bi-Polar, and his routine been broken, not keeping his mind and body occupied with a healthy life style, led to his depression. His comeback is absolutely amazing, influential and should be used to help people and encourage people to seek help when they are struggling. Regardless of his boxing, his family and what he came back from is his true legacy.

There’s a great 30 for 30 documentary on the McGwire Sosa home run battle
