Boxing

I think he might be a bit green for Thompson. He's one I'd be looking at 3 or 4 fights from now. It wouldn't be a bad idea to go in with Price in the next fight or two.

Think Price may even be a bit risky for Joshua just now, Price is looking in fairly good shape and claiming he feels at the peak of his fitness. Eddie Chambers of Peter Fury's camp would be a good fight for Anthony in his next bout or 2. Another option may be to put him in with the loser of Chisora V Fury. The fights are there for him and I think he has to make the step up soon.

I think they could have done a better undercard to make it more appealing, they have a lot of decent names on there but i'm sceptical as to whether any of them will be competitive bouts, listening to Eddie Hearn saying Quigg is making a huge step up in class, dont make me laugh, he's fighting a fella who's never fought outside his country and even still he's record isn't all that.

Would love to have seen Kovalev Stevenson too, so many good fights not getting any closer to being done, disappointed in GGG'S next opponent too, he's looked brilliant granted, but hasn't been in with anyone near elite level yet. Cant see Murray causing him any problems having watched his last two poor affairs in monte carlo.

Like you say thats the issue with modern day boxing, so frustrating not seeing these fights being made.
At least GGG is making noises in the states now, selling out his last venue, hopefully that leads to big fights

Joshua is a cut above all our heavyweights. Price has a punchers chance but he's always going to have that, Joshua is several levels above price, would be a very easy nights work.

It's about time he was put in there with one of them then, He really must step up soon though. The people who he's being put in with are never going to pose a challenge to him same with Hughie Fury I feel.

TBH any of Joshua, Fury or Chisora would be a very, very tough nights work for Price and I'd back at least two fo them to get the win, maybe all three.

I think Price would make a lot of money from it before knocking about the british scene and making a living the way Chisora has done. In his next 6 fights Joshua should be looking to fight all three. That would give him the profile he needs to start looking at proper titles.

Think Joshua V Eddie Chambers should get made, it would provide Joshua with a test but at the same time wouldn't put him in too much danger as Eddie Hearn is so keen to avoid happening.

Don't see any reason for Chambers to take that fight TBH. He'd be better avoiding big hitters. Joshua will have to be matched properly in the next few or the public will rapidly lose interest a la big Audrey

Tyson Fury has spoke before about matching Chambers and Joshua up also I think Chambers would get a decent payday off it. Much more than he's likely to get offered by anyone else in the near future. Can see the comparrison to the support of Joshua dwindling if he doesn't step up soon. You've got to think Mike Tyson was fighting for Heavyweight Titles at the age of 19, Joshua is a good few years older, theres no excuse really why he shouldn't be put in with one of the british big names in the next fight or 2.

At the same stage as his career as Joshua is now, Price had also knocked out the majority. He'd won all of his fights and knocked out his opponent in the first few rounds in many of these. The only fighter that both men have fought is Matt Skelton, both knocked him out in round 2 (Price did it 3 years ago when arguably Skelton was more active and in a run of decent form). I agree that Joshua looks a class above Price, I think that Price has been written off too easily because he couldn't deal with Tony Thompson.

It would be a risky fight at this stage for Joshua, I would expect him to be matched with 'durable' fighter of a higher calibre rather than put in with massive punchers. Although this obviously gets more difficult at heavyweight the further he progresses. We won't have the true measure of Joshua until he is in with someone who can really hurt him, in the same way we didn't find out about Price until he got in with Thompson.

Someone like Malik Scott or Mike Perez would be a decent test for Joshua in his next few fights and safer ones than Price, Fury, Chisora. Also @Lacina Eddie Chambers would be a decent test. Scott & Chambers having some American interest would also be a good thing.

I think Perez V Joshua is being saved for the future, if both continue to progress as expected it could be billed as a US V UK superfight.

Yes except Perez has derailed recently and doesn't possess as much punching power as many other heavyweights (also he is Cuban/ faux Irish, not sure what following he has in the US)

My apologies, last I had seen of him was against Magomed when he comatised him. I didnt realise he had not won either of his last 2 fights and i'm not too sure what made me think he was american! Suppose it may be worth putting Joshua in with him, but then again would Perez take it cause if he was to record 2 losses and a draw in his last 3 fights he'd be scraping the barrel for any half decent fights in the near future.
