Boxing

There's no doubt that 'trash talking' draws in people that otherwise wouldn't pay 15 quid to watch a card. For most genuine boxing & UFC fans they couldn't care less or will dislike it.

I dislike it in both sports. Men die in boxing and serious injuries happen in MMA. It takes courage and a hell of a lot of training to get in the ring/octagon and the man you fight should know all about that and respect it.

Long term this type of crap will do both sports harm as people will see them as savage sports and outdated as the world becomes more sanitized and sensitive.

I'm interested in their character, training methods and what they can do when it matters, not hearing one call the other fella a bellend.

The only real advantage the UFC has over boxing is the relative lack of politics and the lack of shady promoters, network execs and managers ruining the sport for personal gain.

If it carries on growing these sharks will find a way to take something out of it for themselves.

I think that's what happened with Elite XC at the end of the day

So long as Dana White and the Fertittas are running the UFC, I think they'll be immune (For now at least)

Not really

The biggest boxing matches have been that way because of promo's

Mayweather is living proof of that

At one time mickey mayweathers promoters couldn't sell his fights to the tv companies because his style was said to be boring. i'm not a fan of trash talk, styles make fights not gobbing off.

Haye Vs Fury fight has been signed, 28th of sept in Manchester, should get a lot of publicity and the build up and the fight will be entertaining, unless Fury shows a huge amount of concentration, which I haven't seen him do, Haye stops him, I'll even name the punch, overhand right which Fury is vulnerable to and Haye loves to throw

Haye without getting a glove on laid on him IMO. 4TH round

Riddick Bowe was tweeting the Everton twitter account earlier saying he wanted to train with us while over wt the end of the month.

A blue boxing fan picked it up and got Alan Myers involved, its spread from that to a boxing magazine wanting in, and talk of getting Bellew involved too.

Myers has said he's obviously have to run anything past Martinez, but itd be boss if that came off. The power of social media!

Good stuff that, Bowe is without doubt the least well remembered of the big four in that heavy era, who even cares who is the 4th best heavy now, a top amateur as well, real shame he had no interest in taking on Lewis in the pro's, certainly a shame for Lennox's legacy

Looking back it's crazy how many ducked Lennox. At the time I always thought he was there for the taking TBH.
