'Breaking News that nobody is interested in' ...

There’s one visits the bird table at my parents a couple of times a week.

The speed and precision that they take the birds is incredible.

As you say “ bang “ a few feathers in the air and they’re gone.
Told you before I think about the pereguine falcons I seen nesting then teaching the chicks to hunt, awesome sight watching them learn how to take pigeons out in flight

This now equates to my fifth abscess related surgery. I’ve had 4 pilonidal sinus abscesses which at the top of your arse/tail of your spine. They were great fun

Thought it was going be a removal and stitch up, but it needs packing over the next couple of weeks which I absolutely hate.

Anyway thanks for the kind words mucker
I had one on my butt many years ago. I know what's it's like but it sounds like I got lucky.

Squirrels are omnivores mate, so eat whatever is seasonal.

In the Spring, birds eggs and chicks are on the menu.

Have you never seen wooden nest boxes with massive round holes in the front of them, which looks like someone has taken a chisel to it ?

That`s a squirrel gnawing the original hole to make it bigger to get in.

They`re vermin.

The Hawk will be a Sparrow Hawk, dining on the "bird takeaway " at your bird table that you`re providing for it !

....fascinating. I don’t have a bird table but next door have one situated near my fence. They also have a feeder hanging off the overhang of one of my trees so plenty of activity on view from my living room.

I’m amazed that any of the smaller birds ever have chicks that survive tbh, as there’s that many things out there that eat them !

I guess most on here have heard the old joke about the guy reading the newspaper in the Doctor's waiting room and saying 'terrible news about the Titanic'. This morning, I was in my Doctor's waiting room and picked up a copy of National Geographic. Browsing through, I didn't recognise any of the items but found them vaguely familiar. Glanced at the front and saw that the edition date was September 1994. Must say, it was in reasonable condition for 25 years old.

Biked up my dads after work. Had a couple of ales and watched some old crap he’d recorded. ‘Keep it Country’ I think it was. Roy Orbison ‘Penny Arcade’, Rolling Stones, Merseybeats, Frank Sinatra dancing with Rita Hayworth, Beach Boys and more. Just biked home. Cut my lawn. Sitting in the garden listening to the birds. Wood pigeons are crap aren’t they?. And seagulls. I like blackbirds, and a bee has just been buzzing round me for ages. I think I need a cup of tea now.
