I said this in an unrelated post last season when things were going awry - RM needed to start bringing through these young players and allow them to grow and develop a style based on arrogance. As long as it is not misplaced and is fully deserved then the beneficiaries of this new, young breed will be the club and its fans. Kids nowadays seem to develop a confidence in their abilities much sooner than most of our generation (on the presumption that a lot of you guys are in the 35-40+ age range) and this can be seen and heard in the type of music most listen to where it's all about having 'face'. As well as recognising and nurturing this young talent we are also adept at selecting lads who have solid family backgrounds and are level-headed and who wont be easily overawed by situations or opponents. This is testimony to the Manager and his scouting/backroom staff. Keep these boys together and we could just be looking at the beginnings of our long awaited dynasty. And then we will back to worrying whether we can keep hold of RM!

I wouldn't want them to be condescending or come across as knobs. It also isn't bragging (which Liverpool tend to specialise in). What Galloway is saying though, is basically why do you assume you are better than me? If I work hard and play well then I am as good as anybody, irrespective of what the media/sky etc say about it. I think that's healthy. Too often we have not done ourselves justice. By expecting the best of themselves and demanding it of those around them is how you win trophies.

No, I absolutely agree. Occasionally they may need reining in and that is why we have the likes of the more senior pro's and the backroom staff to keep them under control. Confidence breeds arrogance and whilst it is not a particularly endearing trait outside of the playing field wouldn't it be a sight to behold to see the boys in blue swagger about the pitch putting other teams to the sword. I was fortunate, because I saw it in the mid-1980's ( I also just about remember the late-60's/early 70's)and it's about time todays young supporters had a taste of that.

Congratulations Brendan, well deserved based on what I have seen of him.

We have a bunch of fine, young defenders .. in addition to Stones, Browning, Galloway and Garbutt there is Pennington (who I'm informed is sorely missed by Coventry fans and should have been voted their player of the year last season), Holgate (exceptional based on what I've seen), Geithin Jones, Callum Lees ... and others who are often overlooked like Jonjo Kenny, Duffus (?) .. this bodes very well for us.

What we need to find now are exceptional young strikers.

Our defenders look very promising and we seem to have a huge number coming through, especially as we have added Holgate and Galloway. Kenny is a real fighter and ahead o some of the others.

The two I realy like the look of though are Lees and Yarney. Lees is a 16 year old and looks just over 6 ft, muscular and if he Lees developing will be very imposing. Yarney is already over 6 ft and an absolute machine in his age group. Both look very promising.

There would have been a time we would be hyping this kid up to death but because of the wonderful young first team talent already doing the biz we can chill on the likes of Galloway who is a good prospect, which in turn may take the pressure off.

Must be a huge benefit off pitch having several good youngsters in the squad.

Given the media attention and changes in form/fitness that Stones, Barkley, Lukaku and Deulofeu have all gone through they will each have bits of advice that they can give each other and players like Brendan when there are rough patches.
Sometimes just having someone else who knows what you are going through can make a difference.
