He was only playing LB because we had injuries in that position

Browning was RB for the same reason

When they're both back, I think they'll challenge Funes Mori and eventually Jags for CB positions

We're quite strong when it comes to producing defenders from the academy

Just need to produce a decent GK now

Yep. Wasn't that long ago that we were raving about him and I don't recall any bad performances which caused that to change.

His attacking play actually improved. Got in the box lots and could have scored 2 or 3 goals with a bit more composure. Our future left backs are going to be under Baines' cloud the same way our goalies are under Big Nev's cloud. I can't really think of any other fullbacks with Baines all round attacking game. His left foot is an absolute wand and his movement is exceptional. Watching him drill balls into the forwards feet and then run into the box for the return after feigning to go for the overlap never fails to bring a smile to my face.

We have been lucky with having baines and Hinchcliffe, who could both at times, deliver quality into the box. This doesn't seem Galloways game at all, he's not a natural attacker, which could be where the centre back suggestion comes from. Garbutt is the nearest to baines I have seen with regards to putting the ball in the area.

Hopefully he gets a start with rumoured summer target Iorfa at CB. Though of course hes been LB and Iorfa RB for Wolves.

See Chambers still in the u21s, thought he would have been in the full squad by now for the fee wenger paid but havent taken much notice of him.

Pickford also a possible summer target.

Will be interesting to see what happens with him in the summer.

Garbutt seems to have had a nightmare at Fulham. Think he will be moved on in the summer for a small fee which is such a shame.

Oviedo is constantly injured yet looks our best LB when he plays.

Baines hasnt been the same for 2 seasons now (could be the injuries we keep hearing about but doesnt seem like hes carrying one) and now dropped from England squad.

Martinez said Galloway needs 50 games at left back before moving over centrally so perhaps a loan move to get him to that point next season with him coming back to us in a year would make sense....such a worry after seeing Garbutts loan move though.
