That Martinez line from a player at any level at the club is all I would expect at the moment. In particular, the younger squads are probably being told that nothing has changed on a daily basis - mainly in order to stop them getting over excited and starting to snapchat pictures of their tadgers with he is gone written on them.

I would imagine that when the axe is confirmed and breaks out from the inner circle of trust that they will only know slightly in advance of us the punters in this day and age.

Exactly, I am was talking to Matthew Pennington on Saturday, he goes in my local in Sankey, he's an old school friend of my sons. I just said he did well against B'mouth and did he enjoy it blah, blah. I didn't mention Roberto cause I didn't wanna be negative as it was a happy day for him but some fella came out and asked whether he was gonna be sacked, he was laughing and just said he knew has much as we do. That was it. No one knows apart from the people making the decision. I don't even think the seniors know. I'm beginning to wonder if he'll be given another chance, expected it to have been done by now
 
Martinez is 100% going. You don't start a season with a coach that has a 4 per cent approval rating from the fans. Would be madness.

I would expect that all of the players are warned from their first day that there are certain things you do not talk about to people you do not know...and probably even people you do know.

I never believe what players are reported to have said.

I doubt that the club are so organised as that. The players, however , know that a wrong word in the media could cost them their career.

Why would the players know if the manager was getting sacked or not?
