Harsh lesson today but as rightly pointed out he was exposed and didn't know if he was coming or going. It was probably also a good lesson in his learning curve as I do believe he will become a very good player

Fair to say he got legged everywhere today and was a bit out of his depth.

Having said that, he had very little help from Kone and was up against it considering the opposition.

Hopefully he'll learn something from today - maybe just the standard that's required against a top team like City.

Great experience for him today - a real baptism of fire. He'll learn and grow from this. Hope his injury isn't too serious

What other club could have left back options including one quality player, one good player, one young player with potential and a CB that can fill in at LB and for them all to be injured?

Looks even more daft from Martinez now to have let Garbutt go on loan and potentially not have picked up the injury he has now.

Surely there must have been concerns over Oviedo going into the season which is baffling as it must have meant RM was expecting Baines not to potentially get injured early on, backfired quite a bit.

As for Galloway said it earlier on, not his fault at all but much like Stones v liverpool it showed his future is central and not out wide. After Kone went off 2nd half Naismith did an ok job defensively helping out just turned out that Browning had no clue what to do and ended up making the wrong judgement at nearly every attempt of trying anything, but again not his fault either should never have been thrown on in that position, as slow as he is would have made more sense to drop Barry in push Cleverley back and get him helping out on the left hand side when needed and bring Mirallas on the right, more experience and knowledge.

Hindsight 20/20. Garbutt going on Loan was likely part of him even signing his extension. He went prior to the injury to Baines and at that time we had a healthy Baines who looked good in the preseason. Galloway who did well at the end of last year and preseason this year and Oviedo coming fit. That is 3 quality players at LB to lose two in the first 3 games of the season you cant legistlate for, sometimes it is just bad luck. Certainly can't be considered daft.

I didn't think he did too badly considering he was always 2 on 1 with Silva and Navas, and he's not a natural LB. Barry as LB now until Oviedo gets fit
